My PC did an auto update of my video drivers a couple of days ago. Before that I could play a lot of old games like Heroes 3, 4, Diablo 2, etc un-stretched with the black vertical strips on each side of the screen, so it plays like a square monitor. How can I change it back like it was before the up...

I did all the compatible issues and it still won't run. It's strange that your Windows 7 can run it but mine can't.

Yes I believe so, I don't normally change anything from the default. The game was installed in C:\program files\3DO\MM9\... etc. However I went to the TELP forum and found a cshell.dll fix. Thanks for the help everyone. I tried the jeff describes but I only managed to get TASKKILL /F /IM "explorer.exe" and start C:\Windows\ explorer.exe to work in the task manager. I didn't quite get the other parts to work but maybe that's because I'm too dumb when it comes to computer techn...

Haha I don't think it's that bad... I've played MM6 too many times to count, and MM8 twice, now I'd like to try MM9 for the second in like forever. It wasn't too bad the first time I played it. So... anybody know how I can get it to run?

I'm trying to get my game running but each time I load up the game, a black window (probably the game) appears and then immediately disappears again. There were no error messages either. Compatability mode or the latest patches doesn't help... any help here?

That was a good read. Makes me want to fire up the game and have a go at it... I bet this is enough to make non-Heroes players feel like they're missing out on a great game lol.

Hi, I just have to register an account here to thank you for making this patch. I've tried all sorts of "fixes" for making this gem of a game run on Windows XP and none of them worked... except this. It's running perfectly fine now, though there seems to be one tiny problem with the damage...
