I don't know, I finished this level unpatched (last summer), on normal difficulty, and found it not so hard. Why didn't you patch the game? After 1.1 you can try it on easy, perhaps it won't be so hard.

Hmpf, interesting. But don't worry, a few levels later you'll find a mentor (or maybe on the next, I can't remember correctly), until that, luck will be useful too - it's always handy.

No, there isn't any Mentor. How do you restart the map? From tha game menu, or from the campaign menu? In the first case, it will generate the same skills and spells for you, if I'm correct. It worked so in the previous games.

What about becoming a loyal costumer in the game? If you often return to the same shop, you would get some price reduction, or you could buy items, which normal costumers can't. You could also increase your realation with the merchant by telling him to keep the change...

Checked my version number, it is 1.1. My M&M7 installs this version by default.

True. In my opinion the Monk can become stronger for less money, than the Knight. You only use some leather, and a staff, and still, you can easily reach as high attack, damage and AC, as a Knight... Or sometimes even higher, like me.

Nope, I didn't patch my game. The big difference was because the larga mount of skil points, which my monk could put on Unarmed/Staff/Dodge/Leather. Some points went on Disarm and Learning too, and I found a LOT of items that enhance his unarmed and dodge skills. Magic skills? It's not the monk's jo...

Never really used Paralysis. The above mentioned triumvirate was good enough for me to do some genocide among the evil races of Enroth. Even better in M&M6, where you could learn both schools of magic...
