So I take it I'm S.O.L. then? No one has ever heard of this? Cause no matter what I do it crashes after the ending video, so I'll never get to play the rest of that campaign.

Well, I downloaded SP2 and... and... and... IT WORKS!!!!

Yesssssssss, this makes me so happy. I don't understand why it won't work for others though. After I installed SP2 I uninstalled Heroes 4, and reinstalled it and it worked fine with no problems.

Well, just tried Heroes IV with SP2, no go. This is bad news, it seems that windows 7 may be the only near term hope for Heroes IV to run on the new OS's. This is so frustrating. Every time I get to the end of the game, the movie plays and then Vista tells me the program has stopped working. I have tried this several times and from different save files and it keeps happening. Can anyone help me?

I freakin love this game. I'm on Vista 64bit thou (ughhhh) so how would/could I make this work?

Yea I heard that. I really hope SP2 fixes this problem, as Heroes 4 is about the only thing I can't play on my cpu that I'd really like to play.

Really? Every game works for me but 4. Ughhhhhh, why Vista, why?? I really hope the sp2 will fix these stupid problems that make me hate my computer now.

This would make me very happy if it works. I can't afford to buy XP again and I certainly won't have the money for Windows 7 either.

Well, I put both expansion packs on, and I'm still getting the same message.

It says "unable to open data/heroes4.h4r"

Ah, this is a fairly new computer, so I haven't put the expansion packs back on yet. Could that really be the problem? I will put them back on and see if it works.
