I read that they plan to release dwarves and undead as DLC in the coming months and are willing to patch the game so it might get better over time.

I made a custom TotE template for large and very large random maps. It is for 1-4 human players, no underground. Here is a small mod raising the starting number and growth rate for neurals and growth rate for AI towns. Small but notable growth increase on hard (20%), bigger increase on heroic (40%). Won't work on campaign maps.

Neutrals play the same. - But I can give them some more increase rate. Like * 1.25 per week.

Bah, the downloaded file was zip and we must convert this into h5u file right?
The file is already .h5u and when I try to download I will get a tote_resources.h5u.
No idea why you will get a zip file. It's the same. Rename back from .zip to .h5u if your browser prefers to rename it on its own.

If you have TotE installed there is a folder called UserMODs in your games root folder. Copy the file tote_resources.h5u into it. That's all.

It's very easy to do. Here is the download. Standard player starting resources versus expert and heroic AI. It's for TotE, put it into the \UserMODs folder.

I found that the AI is a bit better than in HoF but still dumb. I usually play random maps in hot seat with a friend with 2 additional AIs. Anything less than heroic is too easy to beat. I modified the game so that all players (human and AI) get the same starting resources and increased AI town crea...

The bug is as following: after 3-4 hours of play the game becomes unplayable
You don't have an Nvidia 8800 GTS with 320 MB RAM, do you ? They are famous for their VRAM bug.

Updated mods for HoF 2.1 went into the map folder as *.h5m files.

They work fine there.

For TotE mods are working again in the data folder as *.pak files too.
