Not hyped at all, but I'm still taking a wait and see attitude. So far I hate the art direction, and the faction lineup. I'm kind of indifferent to the game play changes, definitely not excited about any of them but I'll give them a chance. As with 5 though, what will really make or break the game f...

Yeah heroes 4 not having a dismiss hero button was bad, but at the same time they added a lot of features to keep game play smooth, so I kind of give them a pass on that. You're right about how animation works in general, but then again heroes needs pretty limited animation. I have to admit though I...

The Heroes II town screen interface was generally lousy, but very, very beautiful. Only if you played it years after it came out, noob... No, I played it when it first came out. Especially with fully built up towns, there were cases where trying to click on the correct building required a good deal...

Are 2D graphics too much to ask for? I miss having a fixed map that always showed me exactly what I need to see. My biggest complaint with Heroes 5 is that overall it just wasn't as easy to play as the previous game. Heroes IV? The one that made it easier than ever to hide things behind trees and t...

Why is WoG so hard?
It seems like no matter what map I play, everything is going well, and then all of the sudden I run in to an AI hero that has like 40 def, 40 atk, and a massive stack of creatures. I don't get it, do they cheat, or am I missing something?

I'd like the series to return to a 2d engine. Most strategy games are much easier to play in 2d, and you can actually get more detailed graphics. This is probably an unrealistic wish, but I don't really see why it couldn't be done. Did the shiny new 3d engine in heroes 5 actually attract any new pla...

Well I went back and tried starting again, but it all just felt way too clunky and time consuming, so I replayed Heroes 4 instead. Heroes 4 really brought a lot of nice features to the table, if you could combine H4 features with H3 graphics, and a few things like the skill system from H5, I believe...

So what's the final verdict on Heroes V?
I bought the game on day one like most people here probably did, but I gave up on it after a couple hours of play. From what I remember, the interface was frustrating, many of the best features from heroes 4 were removed, the camera was annoying, performance was poor, and the computer cheated badly....

The problem is there's no way to know for sure if it's going to cause problems before you buy the game. I'm not spending $50 for something that might cripple my computer while it's installed. If the games anywhere near as good as 3 I would like to have it installed for a very long time. Now is the t...
