Hi everyone..
is in any way possible extracting a map from a campaign (custom/downloaded or RoE/AB/SoD) and editing it thus creating a new map??

Sure. First you need a campaign file (i.e. a custom campaign). Not sure how the standard ones are saved though...
Anyway, once you have a campaign file (something.h3c), open it with the campaign editor. Then, double-click on one of the land areas to get the campaign editors "Scenario Properties" screen. There you'll find an export button, which will export the map anywhere you'll choose, after which you can open it in the map editor. Good luck!

Yes, why not?
You may use resedit (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/wak ... maparchive - If you aren't member already, please join ) for extracting the campaings from the lod file.
And then campaign editor (h3ccmpded.exe - part of Homm3 since AB) for extracting the maps from them.
