Not if others step up to the plate. Do you want to volunteer? Obviously if Markkur is not well enough to continue, it would require others to step in.

Right back at 'ya Markkur. I got the impression the planning had been done and sketched out in documents and I'm sure the holders of these documents, would gladly share them, if someone decides to step in.

Hello Markkur,

Thank you so much for your contribution and I wish you all the best.

With my map Demonic Defense almost completed, I am now free to help out with Heroes 5: LotA.

I believe I can provide help in scripting with a minor in dialog scenes.

To whomever is seeing this (if there is someone), don't hesitate to PM me.

Hi there again, long time no see...
On my side I have only the few maps I have done (in 2010): B3C5, B3C6, B4C1, B4C2 and B4C4. I don't have any other maps. :(

Dear CH community,

1. Texture modders needed

1.1 This is to inform you that a small team of dedicated HOMM fans is involved in finishing Book 3 of HOMM 5: LotA and we are currently searching for texture modders to complete the project.

1.2 Those that are interested may PM me or send me an email to mctronic@hotmail.com.

2. Update

2.1 The work is going well. 5 out of 6 maps are completed, scripted and are currently being playtested (just for obvious bugs).

2.2 Map 6 is currently being redone (a slow process as I’m not a proficient mapmaker).

2.3 After that, scripting will have to be implemented and the map playtested (just for obvious bugs).

2.4 Once the initial playtest is completed on map 6, the team may expand the pool of map testers to adjust the difficulty settings and to further balance all the maps.

2.5 There is currently no target date – Book 3 will be released when the team feels it is ready to be published.

Dear CH community,

1. Beta Testing

1.1 This is to inform you that a small team of dedicated HOMM fans is involved in finishing Book 3 of HOMM 5: LotA and we are currently searching for players to test and balance the campaign.

1.2 Those that are interested may PM me or send me an email to mctronic@hotmail.com.

2. Texture modders needed

2.1 We are also currently searching for texture modders to complete the project.

2.2 Those that are interested may PM me or send me an email to mctronic@hotmail.com.

3. Update

3.1 The work is going well. All maps are completed, scripted and have been playtested (just for obvious bugs).

3.2 There is currently no target date – Book 3 will be released when the team feels it is ready to be published.

4. Answers from past questions

4.1 The completion of Book 4 will largely depend upon the following:

i) The availability of the team;

ii) The number of members forming the team; and

iii) The success and popularity of Book 3 (through the number of downloads).

4.2 The intent is to add the campaign maps of Book 3 to Book 1 and Book 2 campaigns - it will simply be an update of the existing download package available at the LotA website.

Good that someone is stepping up.

Im sure there are people waiting to play it even if they don't post.

I was underwhelmed by ther number of text responses to my mod but the downloads in Mod DB show that the work isn't for nothing.

Book 3 of Heroes V: Legends of the Ancients - Release

Unread postby mctronic » 10 Feb 2019, 16:35

Dear CH Community,

The Legend of the Ancients (LotA) team is proud to present Book 3 of HOMM5: LotA.

LotA1-3_TotE.zip

Book 3 is the work of dedicated HOMM fans that started around 2008-2009.

Book 3 features innovative ideas not seen in the previous books of LotA and in all HOMM5 Campaigns (to the best of our knowledge), and also features themes from previous games in the M&M Universe.

We are hopeful that you will enjoy playing the campaign as much as it was for the LotA team to implement it.

Please note the following for Book 3 of HOMM5: LotA:

1) It is only compatible with version 3.1;
2) Make sure that the option "No EyeCandies" is left unchecked; and
3) The game has been tested on Hard difficulty (for full AI).

Bugs, comments and suggestions may be reported on this thread.

Regards,

The LotA Team

Dear mctronic,

that's truly admirable and persistent work. Thank you!

While the new AI hasn't been released in time for Book 3, know that it is progressing well and it will come with a significant upgrade in challenge, i.e. the difficulty, the intelligence that makes a worthy opponent, a fully scalable difficulty to suit all players, and full support for the 3.1 scripts.

I will get in touch once it is playable.

Thumbs hold that a lot of our retired Heroes veterans come out again to play Lota Book 3.

Wow !
This is incredible. Congratulations to the team, and thank you for picking up the torch.
I'm downloading now, it will be strange (and exciting!) to play a chapter of LotA for which I didn't do the maps ^^

Already deep into it! Truly awesome. Best reason I have had to start playing again since the v5.5 mod! I'm struggling with Icy Death chapter, but that is part of the fun. The neutral stacks guarding the stat boosters are depleting too much of my army too early in the chapter. It's hard to ignore those boosters, but I also can't lose that much of my army that early. Still working on this one! Great job by the entire team!

Great job on this campaign. But I am stuck on the fourth map (The Trials of Nicolai). How do you defeat the Red hero Fiona? As soon as Nicolai tries to get near her, he gets crushed by a bunch of boulders. I tried equipping the hero with every artifact I could think of but nothing seems to work.

Hello Mamamia,

Could you tell me who is the red hero Fiona? If you meant Fre, you have to go back and activate the catapult.

Hope this helps.
