Beginner's Question

Unread postby Night Walker » 14 Mar 2006, 13:48

Hey, I'm new to this world, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can. The thing that really drives me nuts, is where do I define custom event ?? I tried to look at other maps, for examle Draconic, And efcourse there are a lot of custom events there, but I can only see their names, and not their definitions. Please, can someone help a suffering new comer ?

The name is a bit confusing. In the trigger action it says
TRIGGER CUSTOM EVENT

but the event itself is called a
TRIGGERED EVENT

You can find these on heroes, armies, towns and all other adventure objects that can hold scripts and in the main scenario properties.
Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

You can also find various map events if you look at the Map Properties (alt+enter) and pick the Events tab. Here you'll find the map's overall events - Times Events, Triggerable Events, Continious Events and Placed Events.

Note that you can do somethings in the 'overall' map events that you can't do under the heroes, towns etc. and vica versa. So you have to take a good look at what you can and can't script under a menu.
