Map Submission Traffic

Unread postby Kalah » 21 Feb 2010, 21:51

We're getting a lot of maps these days, either for testing or release. This is a good thing. :) However, it means that it takes a bit of time for us to get the maps up on our site. Because:

We want to give every map a bit of exposure on the front page. We have 3 maps at a time on the front page. Therefore, if we get 5 maps, we will only put up 3 and leave the other 2 for later. So if you have sent in a map recently and it has not yet been put up there, you know why.

Now, you can make our work quicker and easier if you do the following:

1. Write a proper readme. Use this format.
2. Submit minimaps and a screenshot along with the .zip file. That saves time.

Also make sure the map is really ready. We get a lot of updates after the mapmaker has found a bug only two days after sending it to us. That's alo a time waster ...

.... And please! Thouroughly have your map playtested before sending it in. It's good practice to have at least 3 different people play test it. This eliminates quick updates. Also, minimaps really help get your map up quickly. Standard size for minimaps: 144 x 144 and in JPEG format please!
So........... send us those maps like we explained, and you should see them up quicker than you think. Thanks for your maps! We love 'em!

:D
