Strange corruption

Unread postby Grumpy Old Wizard » 29 Aug 2009, 16:49

I've been working on a map and had a strange corruption of the map file earlier.

After I saved and exited (after scripting an objective in the map properties tree ) to do some playtesting the game crashed when I tried to start it up. so I opened the map in the editor and all of the terrain had disappeared for the topside map! It looks like the objects are all in place but all of the terrain (desert, ice, ect) just disappeared and the objects are just sitting in empty space.

I looked at the underground and it seems to be fine.

In the offchance that deleting the new objective was the problem I deleted the new objective but that did not change things.

Of course I had no backup of the map, silly me. :(

Anyways, I could try laying the terrain back down again and see if that works but I don't think I trust the map anymore.

So remember to make backups as you make your map!
Frodo: "I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."
Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
