Making a superhero

Unread postby cherko » 23 Feb 2006, 17:58

I need to make a superhero, GM everything and lvl 70, a real boss battle you know. How do I get the hero as strong as possible? What skills should it have? what artifacts? what spells? is the Demonary a must or totally worthless? Should I use the Tiger Helm-Tiger Armor-Frost Hammer Combo? Should I give the hero a Cloak of Darkness, Angelfeather Cloak or Robe of the Guardian?
I'm back!!!

One who'll put up a good fight would be this guy.

GM Combat
GM Magic Resistance
GM Melee
(GM Archery)

GM Life
- Heavenly Shield
- Mass Exorcism
- Mass Healing

Exp Death
- Mass Cancellation

Ring of Light
Cloak of Darkness
Ring of Health
Adamantine Shield
Breastplate of Regenration
Soulstealer
Maranthea's Mug
Shackles of War
Horseshoe
Gamler's Deck
(Horned Bow)

If he has any creatures to his aid, feel free to give and boost tactics skills.

You didn't use creatures when you fought Ethric in draconic. And I need this guy to be even stronger. Exp Death? NO WAY! GM EVERYTHING! I'm pretty sure his skills should be:
Combat (GM everything)
Nature (GM everything, of course)
Death (GM EVERYTHING!)
Life
Order

I think his spells should be Hypnotize, Hand of Death, Dragon Strenght, Heavenly Shield, Heal, Guardian Angel, and maybe some more. Items:

Horned Bow
Sandwalker Sandals or Wayfaring Boots?
What Helmet?
Ring of Health x2
Flaming Arrow
Spiders Silk Arrows
Poison Arrow
Arrow of Stunning
Scarab of Summoning
Demonary or Adamantine Shield?
Robe of the Guardian
Breastplate of Regen
Soulstealer

Is there any way I can get him even stronger?
I'm back!!!

Yes, disable all summonig spells, but Pheonixes, Mantisses, Fairy Dragons and the demon summoning spells. You could choose to disable those except for the Devils; if the game allows that. But you shouldn't disable the devils, because they are influenced by Nature and Death they summon 2x the number of creatures.

If you wouldn't disable all but the spells mentionned above, the AI will only summon crappy creatures, which are worthless.

Also mass confusion can be irritating. And the hero should have no, or 1 strong, damage spell, as players will get a rougher time from dozens of enchantments and constant blessings from an AI than having weak stacks being jolted by lightning.

Then next time you design it. We'll have a less stupid AI.

I don't know if the HoMM V AI is any good. Anyone got a update on that subject for me?

What? Do I look like a bloody game programmer? When you think of all the turn-based strategy games out there, some with awesome AI, the HoMMIV AI seems reeeeeeeaally crappy. I was playing 2nd map in the barbarian camp. Left 10 cyclopses in Stavgard and built castle while I was out solving quests and capturing cities. Blue player attacked my castle over and over, got massacred by my cyclopses, gathered more creatures and attacked again, and over, and over, and over while I was defeating green player with no interruption from them darn idiots.

And now, let's stick to the subject... If I give a hero Hand of Death, will AI use it on lvl 3, 2 and 1 stacks?
I'm back!!!
