Heroes 3 in Window, how?

Unread postby Cold Fingers » 04 Jan 2009, 16:57

How to play Heroes 3 in a window, because it looks terrible in fullscreen on my 22'' monitor. I tried with in-game shortcut F4, but it doesn't work if my desktop isn't set to 16 bit colors....

Ideas?

16bits all the way. To making it simplier use program setres. See > how to do it. ;)

If you want to play Heroes III in window mode, you may have to reset your color to 16 bit every time before you launch the game & set it back when you are done.

I think that I gave you a link?

Generally you will create bat file. Write here settings for your monitor, name of exe which should be run and then once again the settings for monitor to return to 32bpp.

Let see the example. Copy setres to your h3 game directory. Create new file with extension bat and edit it:
SETRES h1600 v1200 b16
heroes3.exe
SETRES h1600 v1200 b32
@HP
The setres will change the settings for you, so you don't need to repeat that manually. You will be only clicking on bat file which will change the settings, run the game and then when you will finish it, the desktop switch back. A Magic. :D
