Heroes 4 memory failing(?)

Unread postby grizzy » 09 Feb 2006, 15:11

I installed heroes 4 on my PC yday , i had it on my old PC a long time ago with no problems .. but now its shows that my memory didnt pass the requirements in the window , before installation :

-Setup has determined that your system has 2GB of memory. The minimum requirement is 128MB. The game may become unstable, run very slowly, or possibly not load at all.

whats up with that ???

So i ignore that and continue installing , i go ingame , start a map and it feels like im playing on 64MB of memory or sth :/ not the 2,5GB that i have...
Oh and it sometimes kicks me out of the game saying i'v ran out of memory.

Is there a solution for this ?

The installation probably misunderstood how much memory you actually have and got confused a little.

I actually have 128 mb of memory (6 years old computer) and the game tended to get very slow as I played, and I had to periodically quit the game and restart, otherwise it would switch me back to windows to tell me my virtual memory was too low. However, after I downloaded all the updates, this did not happen anymore. Is your game updated?

No, WoW has the latest version. I take it you memory is installed correctly and otherwise working? How many separate chips do you have? Could it be that it's only reading one slot? Seems very weird.

Maybe the game read just one of those. But still, even one 512 should be more then enough.Quite odd.

I sense foul necromancy at work. Maybe you should stop playing Death.

Some things to try.

Turn your computer off. Turn it on again and try the game. Sometimes wierd things can happen if you go for very long periods of time without turning your computer off (due to memory leaks in various programs.)

Do a virus scan (keep your antivirus program updated.)

Shut down programs running in the background.

Uninstall and reinstall the game.

GOW its not like that , the setup already detects that i dont have more than 128 MB of memory , but i actually have 2.5 GB .
The game runs from the start like its on VERY low memory so restarting the PC doesnt really help much.
Also it crashes when any1 moves with skeletons either me or AI
And yeah i have my antivirus updated.

Reinstaling ur OS should fix it if it's a software glitch.
