I've got to go with the Warlocks again here. From top-to-bottom they have an awesome H2 army list .... there really isn't anyone that can easily compete.

Just like H1 balance-smalance ... if the game went on long enough you were going to win ......

IIRC the Warlock opera was also one of the best operas and set the mood very well.

Edit: Honorable mention must go to the Necromancers. IMHO this has been the most fun of the added factions.

Voted for the Necromancer. It was always fun playing the undead.

H2 is the game where I have to really make a choice rather than automatically choosing Wizard. :)

I ultimately chose Necromancer, even though three of the Necro creatures suck (Zombie, Mummy, Lich). They certainly *are* fun to play.

Second would probably be the Sorceress; I really like the feel of having an army of fast shooters.

Voted for Wizard. Halflings make nice early game shooters, Golems are excellent tanks and powerhouses, Wizards are really powerful and titans are nice if you can get them.

Necromancers, you can build a army really quick with that one. Also the design is nice :)

Voted for the all-girl alignment of Sorceress. It's the H2 equivalent of the Nature-Rampart alignment in H3 & the Nature-Preserve alignment in H4. Besides, it's the most beautiful town in H2. :)

goddamn it HP, that's 3 times! ;)

Sorceress, for quick expansion none matches sorceress, and if you're fast you can really put the hurt on any other faction! plus they're just so damned FAST!

P.S. I saw a similar post in the H1 poll. Did I?

For H2, I like them all. I wish I could pick a favorite. But they were all so well balanced and all fun to play. If I had to pick, it was probably the Necropolis, since this faction was introduced to the Heroes series.

For me, it's a tie between Sorceress and Barbarian. Even though I would give the edge to the Sorceress due to their creatures' speed, I'm going with Barbarian because, contrary to popular belief, they too need some luvvin' in spite of their rough facade. :)

Warlock, I have much more fun when my army is full of monsters than when it's full of goody two-shoes elves and knights.

No doubt about it here, Necromancer. I LOVE the Mummy/Royal Mummy, and it's been a serious disappointment that it hasn't really been a part of the main Necromancer creatures in the latest games. The Skeleton and Bone Dragon also look very good IMO.

The thing I mostly loved about Bone Dragons, it was their "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" death.

Vote Sorceress.

Speed is King (or Queen, in the case of the Sorceress town :)). Maybe not the most deadly race on the battlefield but the most enjoyable to play for me.
I'm a hypocrite because I suggested that all life is sacred and should not be wasted without good reason.
