Yes but, all of the evolution threads have been "looks-based"; why should this one be different?

Although, as I have noticed in previous threads often function takes precedence in voting.

Oh well, it doesn't really matter.

the poll says favourite, but lists no criteria ;)
and of course humans have to disappoint by using unfair criteria... that's why utopias don't work you bastards...

The poll also doesn't say that functionality cannot be considered in. But at least everyone can vote how he/she wants, after look, after functionality, after both, or after 'just to vote.'. I'd say that at least this kind of freedom shouldn't have to be taken away from people.

This has nothing to do with "freedom" or any such bull honkey. If everyone simply votes with some random criterion in mind, there will be absolutely no sense in having a poll. The evolution polls are about appearance, period.

Appearance is a shallow way of judging something. What it can do makes it more valuable than how it looks. Well, except for the Sharpshooter I guess. Best looking creature in the Heroes series hands down.

One should at least use some criterion that ensures that all creatures have a chance...

Well but in these polls it's just about the looks. Otherwise this one (as an example) would be easaly won by the WoG thing. Those stats are insane (DUH, it's a lvl 8 creature) compared to the other ones...

Spare me the age old adage, it is not applicable in this case. There's a good reason why these polls are based on appearances; think of the ramifications of pitting different renditions of the same creature against one another based on their characteristics - take the griffin for example - it would be a no brainer (HoMM IV griffin wins hands down) so why even have a poll? There are many more examples to be found. Beauty may be skin deep, but that's what we are judging here.

I got your point. Even earlier whith the griffin example. Only when I judge a creature's look, it's determinated by its abilities.

I voted for HIV Behemoth. It's a big, ugly, scary-looking monster.

I can see why the mythical-monster look of the Ancient Behemoth is getting so much love though, though I personally the more natural look of the HIV Behemoth more appropriate.

Vote for H IV Behemoth.

Seems that this one really has some 'weight' in it. Might be cause of the scarcity of hair and more appearance of muscle,

but H III Behemoth look a bit wimp compared to H IV one. Even Ancient Behemoth didn't look really great, only has more hair than non-ancient one, but the 'weight' is same.

:) this pic can stir a smile to my face almost anytime.

So we should modify the poll to:
Afro-american athlets
White athlets
Albino athlets
Gorillas

There's only one "true" Behemoth here that can claim the prize: the Ancient Behemoth. Its only drawback is speed. With a speed value at 9 in regular terrain and 10 on its native terrain, the Behemoth will have to wait to get his terrible claws on enemy units. But I agree with UnDeadHalfOrc, there's no doubt that in 1-1 the Ancient Behemoth is overall the strongest unit of its level. That -80% to enemy defence surely rules the day.

Because the NWC news some years ago told us about the destruction of Erathia. And we do believe the news, don't we? :D

I can't argue with the H3 Ancient Behemoth either ....
