h3 for me
played it at a friends house, asked him to burn the disk for me (good old times) but the disk got scratched so I decided to buy heroes 3 complete, it's one of the very few games you don't mind spending money on even though you aren't going to play it that much anymore

King's Bounty.

But back then I didn't understand what's all that game about.

I really understand the world of Heroes (and TBS) after I played Heroes II. After that, I re-played King's Bounty again, that time with new perspective in mind.

H2, I had played it at a friend's once and I did not particularly like it :D

It was a few years later that I found out H3 and got to like the series eventually going back for H2 and H1 :) I have played all of the games a lot with H1 barely touched but that is to be expected, it had little to offer me by the time I played it.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I played Heroes 1 first, got it when I was 5, but I'm pretty sure I didn't understand it too well for a while.

When I first got a computer back in '96 or so, I went down to the local game store and asked the guy behind the counter: "Which game could I play over and over again and it would never be the same twice and I would never get bored?" His answer: Heroes of Might & Magic I. So, I bought it. Have been hooked ever since, though I have'nt played IV and V. But I would like to.

I actually played Heroes of Might and magic 2 first up, in 1997 I think it was.

I loved it, and to this day, that is my favourite game from the HOMM series, and probably is up there in my top 10 games ever played.

I was then curious, and then played HOMM1 for a little while, before moving onto HOMM3 and Then trying out WoG, while in between, having some fun with HOMM2.
I make music because I want to, not because I have to.

If you don't have fun doing something then it's best to move onto something else.

H2 -> H3 -> KB -> H4 -> H3wog -> H5 (-> Wesnoth)
never touched H1, as it seemed totally inferior to H2 from screenshots.

My brother received Heroes III: The Restoration Wars as a Christmas gift back in 1999. We installed the game with little time wasted and got hooked on the game. It was the best strategy game or any game whatsoever we had ever seen or played. Today, I'm still playing the game almost daily and am still finding something new in the magic feeling of Heroes III. My adventures with the simple but brilliant H3 map editor further enchance the experience.

To say it short&simple: H3 is a true Gem in the HoMM series.

From Heroes III I moved on to the unnamed Heroes IV and its expansions the Gathering Storm and the Winds of War and then finally to Heroes II: Succession Wars & The Price of Loyalty. So, my route was from H3 to H4 and then H2. Not quite in chronological order, a cardinal mistake from a University student majoring in general (World) history.

Later on, having finished some of PoL campaigns I revisited H4 but this time its second expansion. Now I'm stuck on the Winds of War campaigns. Somehow they seem harder than those of the Gathering Storm??

Let The Heroic Tale live on. :-D

I bought HOMM1 fairly soon after it was released, and was instantly addicted.

I would imagine that I have played more HOMM than any other activity in my life besides sleep and work.

I recently made a resolution to play thru all the HOMM campaigns in order, so recently finished HOMM1 again. In HOMM2 now, finished the "good" campaign and now playing the alternate missions.

Started with H4. I'd like to go back and try the others but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. So, H5 I play instead :)

Second gae was pretty much HoMM 1, and then 2 and then.. eerrmm you can fill in the rest. I played in in the right order :P

I started with H3 and with them I last.

Although H4,2 tastes well too I'm not home in them and surprisingly both of them are running slowers for me.
Umm, time matter. ;)

Why would it be either?

First game I played was the HoMM1 demo, way back in 1996 or 1995?
