Which Heroes of Might and Magic Game did you first play?

Unread postby gravyluvr » 27 Aug 2007, 13:26

There is a poll out there about favorite game... but it's always fun to add perspective. Which was the first game you played in the HOMM series?

Keep in mind this is the first game you played in the HOMM series. If you played 3 and then went back and played older versions, your answer is 3.

The last option are for the players that were alive to see the last unicorn and have started getting old timers...

I was alive to see The Last Unicorn when it first showed up here... does that count?

I guess i'd have to say H2, even if it was only once or twice on a laptop my mother borrowed for work... then i played and learned to play TBS's with H3, and only got H2 way later.

King's Bounty.

And I bought the original Heroes 1 as soon as the Windows 95 came out because it came with the map editor!

And yes, I am old.

Heroes of Might & Magic I

Searching for a game for my new PC about 10 years ago, I found two copies of HoMM one in the DOS version and one for Windows 95. Got the W95 version and loved the game so much that I bought Heroes II. I got Might & Magic IV a little later and the rest, as they say, is history! :-D

Heroes 3 for me, I played it with a friend, IIRC.

H2 here. Got hold of H3 as soon as it came, and then I came over H1. I love them all.

I discovered HoMM II, when I was trying out game demos from a computer magazine cd. I played the Broken Alliance scenario to death, over and over, until finally I purchased the whole game for a great price. Next came HoMM III, and a little later I decided to dig for the first game and loved it as well.

King's Bounty on Sega Mega Drive.

I greatly enjoyed the game, it was my favourite along with Sonic games (doh) but when my Sega broke, i was "heroeless" for few years.

Some 3-4 years after that, i've seen a screenshot of Heroes of might and magic 3 game, and thought "this looks familiar" :)

I played homm 1 at a friend's house. I was instantly hooked. My birthday was coming up so I demanded homm 2. I got the expansion too. Fun stuff.

The first HoMM game I played was H3, but I woudn't really call it playing because I didn't understand anything and were just playing two turns while the true player was on WC.

The first REAL play I had with H4. And it is the game that hooked me to this series...
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

The first one I bought was Heroes 2, but it came with the DoS version of Heroes 1, so I played 1 first. Much later I bought the "ultimate strategy archives," which contained the W95 version (and King's Bounty). So, I played KB and HoMM4 out of order (KB after 3, and 4 after 5)

I started with H1 and moved up the chain. I've never even seen the original KB running.

Heroes I. My father purchased it when I was 3, and I played as well.

Voted H2. It was a hotseat game. I was totally confused but completely drawn in.
