Phoenix evolution complete

Unread postby Orfinn » 07 Jul 2007, 21:20

As the Phoenix rise from the ashes, I rise up a new phoenix thread cause of a new phoenix member, dead or alive. Its the one that was planned for H5, beta version.

Image

Someone decide if this could be a link instead of the one alredy in the Creature links thread, or add it along with the old one.
Anyway here they are yet again.

As you can see for the case of H4 and H5 the old ones got dropped for hideous fried chicken and his just as evil cousin the dragonbird. Its sad, really sad.

I will in memorial to the beloved phoenixes from H4 (dropped) and H5 (beta) give em a poem as thanks for their beauty.

Ehem...*cough*

From ashes of thoughts
you both were born
of fans suggestions
and some clever minds fantasy...
But dropped you were and extingushied by
the dirty water of uncreative creators
Short lives you both had..
but in oblivion none of you shall be devoured
cause we fans will always forever
remember the beauty you fiery birdies
gave us and still...give us...

Oh and I voted for the first H4 version :)

Yeah, I chose that version of well. Too bad they went with the fried chicken instead.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Err...IIRC the one you labeled "H4 planned" was actually planned for H5--NWC's version.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No, you are correct. That one was H5-NWC version. I even told that in my own Phoenix Evolution tread.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

Yeah, I now know :)

But if this is labeled Duplicate...well alright then, use your magic fingers someone and place the beta bird in the other Phoenix thread then...if possible.

I thought I could fix it by making a new thread, since the above solution wouldnt be fair for the H5 beta phoenix. And that birdie is a close second to mine, just add some fire effects :D

I had to go for the H1-phoenix, it isn't so cluttered as the others, it's more clean

The H5 reminds me an angry flaming condor.

Temptated to merge topics, temptated...

Mother nature, cant belive someone votes for the H1 one :-D Thats gotta be pure nostalgia.

Are you tempted by merging Pol? Come on I know you want to. It will lead you to ultimate world domination!!! Its your destiny :devious:

Indeed, they dont look like the lame dragon wings the in-game have.
Phoenix is a legendary fiery bird, not a dragon :disagree:

Yeah, a whole lot of nostalgia tbh, although the 3do H5-version is also good looking :)

Vote for the NWC conception for the H5. It was kind.

Comes Heroes 2 right after it (I liked the neon and noble posture of it), Heroes 5, and Heroes 3 (the fire wouldn't move, so it has lost 2 points :D ) - although the firebird was quite nice.

Heroes 4, which, for me, was the complete disgrace of all creature designings (save just a few), Phoenixes were one of the most horrible toffee red bananas I have ever seen that flyes. Worst than at, maybe the bulldog black dragon or the terrible unfocused-eyed medusas.

I vote for the H1 Phoenix ... I prefer my birds not to be flaming while they're still alive ... By those standards H2 gets an honorable mention.

I voted H2. The animation really kicks ass; it really does this Ultra Fast creature justice.
