Eh, the were good portraits in all of the heroes games. When Heroes IV was first coming out, there was a full body portrait of Rissa on the website that made her look a lot like Nicole Kidman.

Agreed. Every HoMM game has both good and bad portraits. But if I had to pick only one game, then it would probably be H4.

These are my favourite portraits:

Yep, that's why I didn't put them twice. Plus, some H2 portraits had better backgrounds (like Gem).

And the funniest hero ever would be Calid, the sulphur sniffing hero:

Just looking at it makes me feel ill.

Or maybe it's just that I am ill already.
Working on tracking the locations of Heroes IV battles. Stage 6 of campaign map finished, all initial Heroes IV campaigns mapped.

Not yet enough praise of the terrific hero portraits from HEROES 2 !!

Let me correct that.

Ibn Fadlan from the last scenario of the Price of Loyalty campaign. Starts with HUNDREDS of bone dragons.
The last battle against this guy was EPIC.

Alamar the Warlock. His best portrait.

Sphere of Negation + Crazy Uncle Ivan + Titans = ownage! ("Wizards" campaign)

Rebecca, the beautiful sorceress:

And last but certainly not least, everybody's favorite skeletal hero, Sandro.

It's a crying shame the only way to see this guy was to use his portrait in a custom made map.
He wasn't in any of the price of loyalty campaigns.

And why is the file name "Solmyr" ?

If I remember correctly, he is the hero you lead in official scenario "Wizards Land 2" or however the map is called. And in all three maps, he is called Solmyr.

But there's no such stand alone map... And in the campaign "Wizards Isle", you use generic wizards, and use Uncle Ivan in the last scenario.

I don't know for you, but I do have theme. First part is in SW while the other two are in PoL.
In first part you control a hero with potrait of some young warlock, in second Solmyr and in third part the hero has Rolands potrait. In all three parts they are called Solmyr.
And the maps are hard as hell. I helped myself with the editor, but I was still unable to beat it.

Isnt it such that Solmyr first looked like a human but after he became a powerful Wizard, he turned completely genie?

No, he was a genie traped in a bottle until Gavin Magnus saved him.

And just because some heroes have the same names does not mean that they are the same person.

Are you sure you did not download them?

After a fresh install of SW + PoL and the latest patches, I have no "Wizard Land" maps.

Maybe they only come in a gold/complete version of Heroes 2 ?

If so, where can I download them?

Like Duncan from HoF and Dark Messiah, not the same persons...I think I see a pathern here...

Such things cant be discussed here, but I tell ya not even Limewire seem to give ya the answer.
It irritates me to a degree that Ubi havent released H2 Gold at all, forcing folks such as me to find it in other ways, since there are no copy in any store.
And forget Ebay etc I hate giving away my creditcard number, even if they say its safe :disagree:

Orfinn, are you confirming that those Wizard Land maps are from a gold version of Heroes 2 ?

I don't want to download the gold version - just the official 3DO maps I don't have!

I bought Heroes 2 SW and Heroes 2 POL the day they came out.
