Boragus Identity

Unread postby Lunar » 18 Mar 2007, 16:13

As you now, king Boragus is lord of Krewlod, barbarian country on western side of Antagarich between Erathia, Tatalia and Brakada.

And there is my question - is he goblin or human?

Here he looks like human http://hommworld.grantpalin.com/Homm3/C ... B_Map3.jpg
In introduction to second mission of Yog campaigns in Shadow of Death.
But here... http://games.changzhou.hzcnc.com/flashg ... oragus.jpg he looks like pure goblin! 8|

So who is king Boragus?

The first picture is way too small and indiscernible to be able to tell, and on the second one he is definitely not human, so I think the conclusion is pretty obvious.

Isn't he an Ogre?

Reasonably certain he’s not human; he’s green. Also appeared at the end of Yog’s campaign, IIRC, with better lighting.

See also: end of Kilgor’s campaign. (He’s the severed head.)

Now what I’d like to know is…what is the thing with the horns at the bottom of the screen? I thought it might be a Rust Dragon at a really awkward angle but the horns are in the wrong spots.

Yup, even in the first pic. Looks more like an orc the a goblin (might be an ogre).

His specialty is ogres and he is a greenskin. Looking at the shape of his nose, and other parts of his face, he could easily be a hybrid like Yog. Ogre/human most likely. Considering the body size and appearance of orcs, goblins and ogres in Homm3 world, I'd say ogre more likely than the other greenskins.

Info on AoH describe him as a ogre:
Boragus - Male Ogre Barbarian.
Att: 4, Def: 0, Sp: 1, Kn: 1. Basic Tactics and Basic Offence. No Starting Spell.
Specialty: Ogres or Ogre Magi after level 4.
Biography: Winston's Boragus' special kinship with the Ogres he commands in battle has taken him far in his quest for power.

Same description (about race) in AB's manual.

But in SoD's videoes (picture in Lunar's post) he looks like Goblin/Hobgoblin/Goblin Lord from MM7:

And here are screenshots from Yog's campaign:

EDIT:
And here are from AB:
