Thats good. Devils are fallen angels. Not like in H5 where they change gender, uniform, weapon and fat

The H3 archdevil it is.

The H4 has a few odd details, but I quite like it.

The H5 archdevil, though menacing, seems much too clumsy.

Random lore question. I know it has been said time after time that the demons are separate from the Kreegans and that they're a separate race entirely. This appears to be due to the fact that Kreegans are technologically advanced space-traveling aliens.

So with the appearance of the demons in Heroes III and IV, what exactly is their relationship with the Kreegans?

I know the Kreegans landed in Enroth, traveled to Antagarich, and kicked the Halflings out of Eolfol, turning it into volcanic lands. In the Inferno faction, they're just the Pit Lords and Devils. But where did the demons and imps come from? Did the Kreegans just ally themselves with this unrelated demon race because they had similar appearances?

Also, I picked H3 Archdevil.

IMO they're all Kreegan, just different kinds. Even the Colony Zod is technically a Kreegan...

What's known is that Imps, Gogs and Efreeti aren't Kreegans; you can find Imps on Axeoth in MM9 and Escaton clearly hasn't gone after them, and likewise the latter two are still present in Jadame in MM8 after the last Kreegans on the planet were killed. Efreeti are allies according to H4 while Imps seem to be slaves. But "Demons" (the lv4 Inferno unit), Pit Lords and Devils I always assumed to be part of the Kreegan race itself, along with the winged freaks from MM6-7.

Then you have the other, real race of Demons in Conquest of the Underworld, who definitely aren't the Kreegans but are represented by the Inferno...

You could speculate that the Demons from CotU like Deezelisk and Jorm are actually one and the same as the Demon/Greater Demon unit, and forged an alliance with the Kreegans when they attacked the planet. But that'd probably be too much of a stretch, since there was a thousand years between the Conquest and the Night of Shooting Stars, among other reasons.

In Heroes IV we also get Ice Demons. I don't really know what the hell they are but I have several crackpot theories (see here... urrgh, on second thought don't, it's from too long ago). And in MM9 there are Succubi (Ebora) and bulky Devils in the Tomb of a Thousand Terrors, and since they're not really on Axeoth they're probably Kreegans as well (which LotA affirms).

The Hellhounds/Cerberi are just "reconditioned" dogs... no lore on them so fill in the blanks as you wish. I like to imagine they were dogs mutated by the effects of The Hive's reactor, or something.

Who's Escaton? 8| Anyway, the fact that they are on Axeoth doesn't mean much. Nicolai Ironfist is on Axeoth, too. And both Imps and Efreeti can fly.
And how come all Kreegans were killed by the time of MM8? I know that the Hive, Colony Zod and Xenofex/Zenofex were destroyed, but what said that all of them were?

As Danny Leiner might say: "Dude, seriously?"

I'm certain the MM9 Imps aren't related to Nekross or Enroth - they took over Anskram Keep before the Reckoning took place. Plus, they don't have any wings :)

MM8, several times - it's even key to the plot. Play it GreatEmerald!

I tried, but somehow I can't get used to it... WTH, species as classes? Only one character is customisable? The spellbook looking like a bunch of pencil drawings? No GrayFace's patch? I'll probably get back to it, but for now I'll stick with MM6.

Is it good? It looked good...

Oh and, HV Arch for me...

I love the HV creature design, I just don't know why...
