bad? heck sometimes i think the mistake lies some other place just because nival and ubi sucks with most other parts of the game, units like the angels are great.

Are you kidding me? That's exactly what I thought when I saw the ridiculous Heroes 5 angels. It all goes to show that Heroes of Might & Magic should be left to the experts (that is, 3DO/NWC).

I'm appalled at the number of votes for the H5 angels, as I consider them to be among the worst looking units in the game, with the exception of the genie, and the gargoyle perhaps.

The rest of the angels are fine looking, with #4 as the best of the lot. If only he would lose the helmet.

Some ppl just like anime (it's the chin, i finally got what's 100% anime and that's it, there are other things too, but those have been adopted by others too).

And it's the helmet (which isn't even a helmet btw) or the darn thing on it's shoulder that is supposed to protect the face (which actualy existed in the past i belive)?

Voted Heroes III angel. Simple but powerful

I just noticed that I forgot to vote in this poll while it was still new. To correct that Forgetfulness of mine, here are the Angels as per my ranking, from best to worst.


1. Heroes III Archangel

A powerful unit with great design. The clearly Ancient Greece inspired armour is a big plus and the Sword of Judgement adds nicely to the allegory. The light brown hair (and beard) looks more pleasing to the eye compared to the "regular" Angel's smooth shaven face and black, somewhat long haircut.

2. Heroes III Angel

Clearly the second place in this contest. Simple outfit but with classical style that never goes out of fashion.

3. Heroes IV Angel

It has the looks of an angelic warrior prince, both mighty and majestic.
My preferred choice over H IV's Champions. (although they are not a "bad" unit by any standart)

4&5 Heroes V Angels

Well, to summ it up: I never liked the design of these creatures from the very beginning. After witnessing the first published art work of these fellows and the HV Gargoyles I thought that "They're really flushing down the Heroes traditions down the toilet". I'm a fervent opponent of manga and anime, let them stay in Japan where they belong. It's a shame really that such elements are present in Heroes V. With this said, I confess that NWC's Heroes IV style plans (in art work) for their version of H5 were superior to those of Nival.

I'm torn between H3 Angel and H5 Archangel. The H3 angel has perfected the traditional angel look, while the H5 archangel is a lot more mysterious-looking. Supernatural beings don't need to look plain or make sense. I just hate the hood, though. It's silly.
