Hey, I just saw this posted on youtube, and rushed over here in a hurry to see what's up, and nobody's discussing it!

(Am not that keen personally, but that's me.)

Just to be fair, BTW, I'm a fan of people adapting H3 (especially HOTA) for use on handphones and tablets. Then I could play H3 anywhere I go.

But a board game sounds too much trouble. It'll require space and stuff. How many of us really have a big nice flat clean table at all times?

Well, yes apart from our own (which would be more of question to MadMax, as its maintainer), I follow Lizo's channel. You can find it here. If you look for someone more established, there exist also Seth but I never seen him doing review of tabletop game, so I guess that your chances are nil.

There must be whole bunch of polish channels, related to HotA and such but I don't follow them. As of twitch, it's the same case for me.

On Archon's website, they said this:

"About Ubisoft
Ubisoft is a leading creator, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and services, with a rich portfolio of world-renowned brands (blah blah). The teams throughout Ubisoft’s worldwide network of studios and business offices are committed to delivering original and memorable gaming experiences across all popular platforms, including consoles, mobile phones, tablets and PCs."

I know Archon has got to say this, but it's so bitterly funny to read all the same. The very fact that Ubisoft is endorsing it, is like a stain on the expected quality.

That said, you should look up Iana Venge/ Drowsyfox's page. Don't just look at the pictures, click on them to see more. Iana's profile picture is blurred and the profile has no information.

The art is detailed, yet realistic. Not like H6/ H7 where everything was too ornate and gothic.
Iana really has a unique take on everything. And I don't mean this as a backhanded compliment, because it's well executed. Others could take the inspiration from Iana!

Unique takes worth mentioning:

Six Legged Basilisk with the front legs in an unusual configuration.
Wyverns whose front wings can be folded down and seemingly walk four-legged.
Evil Eyes that look both evil, and still look practical enough to be living creatures.

The main eye is a lot smaller and partly covered for protection. When they are all eyes like in many artists' renditions, you really have to wonder how they obtain sustenance.

Very good scaling. Some artists have overly exaggerated scaling, resulting in creatures that don't look like they can fit a faction's castle. Iana's Fortress and Dungeon factions look like real teams. I can imagine castles where level 1-7 creatures of that size can dwell within.

Well, my bank blacklisted Kickstarter. Guess i'll just have to buy it locally if it's any good.

Although i got to say, i'm not a fan of the art, because it's way too detailed. I guess it is way closer to the spirit of HoMM art then the rest of the Ubi-games, but sometimes less is more.
