The Map of Axeoth by Marzhin

Unread postby Marzhin » 02 May 2006, 10:09

All is in the title, really ;)

Is there an official map for the lands of Axeoth ? I think I read something about it somewhere...

//

edit : according to this post by HodgePodge in the H5 Deluxe thread : http://www.celestialheavens.com/forums/ ... 8841#28841
HodgePodge wrote:I bought Heroes IV on the day it was released and it did indeed have a faction sheet, a hard-copy manual & a sort of glossy paper mini map. I think the later editions didn't have those extras though. sad
//

I did draw one myself a few years back, taking in account the glimpse of maps we can see in The Gathering Storm and Winds of War opening movies, and the map of Chedian from MMIX, but it would be better if there was a "true" map of Axeoth...[/quote]

edit : topic's title changed to be more clear

The map was of "A Land Without a King", a SP map you could play.

Oh, that's too bad. Thanks anyway ;)

So no map, it seems... Fine, then I shall use mine without remorse ;)

Well AS is getting an interview with an ex-NWC employee, maybe he can ask nicely if they had a map of Axeoth and if we could somehow see it.

I think Ethric has a map of Axeoth on his wall...
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

I wonder if he could be ever so gracious as to share it with us?

I asked about Vori Elves on the old Round Table and got a sort of map... let me just look for it.

Here, post #5 by Pitsu.

Other than that, I can only think of the maps you can see when you select the scenario in the campaigns, and the small map shown when you start the editor.

It's a map of Erathia, not Axeoth ;)

Not a big deal. So that was the map of the continent Antagarich which includes the different lands of Erathia, AvLee, Nighon etc. I just wondered what the planet name is which hold this continent. Axeoth is the name of the planet in H4, Ashan in H5.

As far as I know, the inhabitants just call the planet "Enroth", but for the Ancients it was known as "Colony"

OK, hum *cough* *cough* here is the map of Axeoth I draw two years ago during a very boring holiday... Just as a reminder : this is ABSOLUTELY NOT AN OFFICIAL MAP.

All the names are in French, that may be slightly different from the original english names. If you have any questions ask me.

I see, well I suppose I could call the planet Enroth suits just fine :)
And great job Marzhin for making such a cool map, at least now we have a clue on how Axeoths continents and lands look like ;)

Here's one: Do you have that map at a higher resolution?!

Of course I do. I reduced it to post it on the forums, but to give you an idea the original "paper" map is something like 80 x 50 cm (it was quite a pain to scan, I can tell you ^^)

I'll upload a bigger version ASAP.

That's what I intended to do ;)

I may do another "international" version so if you have the official english names of those...

Baronnies de la Roue (H4, Lysander)
Grand Arcan (I think it's simply "Great Arcan", but...)
Ile d'Aspic (H4, Order Campaign)
Glaivenoir (The Gathering Storm, Dogwoggle's campaign)
Montagnes Eclairs-Hurlants (TGS, Agaraynel)
Ile du Bûcher (TGS, Bohb)
Désert de Rouille (WOW, Spazz Maticus)
