H2 & H3 map editor: How to create 1-way barriers?

Unread postby pooiyx » 04 May 2015, 16:16

In Heroes 2 and 3, are there any ways to create a path that is one-way only?
In other words, once heroes move beyond a certain point on the terrain, they cannot move back the way they came from.
Thanks.

At least in HoMM3, of course. Just use a one-way portal.

In H2 you can use a teleport with the left or right side of it being guarded by an undefeatable neutral creature stack. The hero, once teleported, can step on the side opposite to the guarded one and never return back to the teleport.

Another way for this can be implemented with the use of ships. Sometimes when a big coastal object (like Water Mill for example) is obstructing the boat and it's not visible, you can leave the ship near the big object but will never be able to enter it again because the cursor doesn't change on the supposed ship coordinates still indicating the big object instead. This situation, however, can be solved with the use of Summon Boat spell.
