Heroes 3 best town

Unread postby SuperPK » 18 Mar 2013, 21:25

Hi
My friends and I are having a lan in a few months, and we are going to play a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1 (7players), and we are all going to play different towns.
As I am the first one to pick a town I would prefer picking one of the better ones. So could you name the best towns from 1-9 (both expansions are used), on a XL map where we get to choose which hero to start with.

Well either Necro(since on XL map you can turtle extreme amount of skeletons) or conflux, since their units are relatively dis-balanced. Specially some who allows extreme speed on adventure map.

Once necro gets the cloak of the undead king, it's going to be game over in a big map.

For a normal game I would say Conflux because of great units, magic university, best grail structure, and ease of build order.

My advice, if you want to have good game: all go random, both towns and heroes.

I have made a short list of my opinions of the best teams (XL map). Does the list seem fine? Also, are there any teams that are the worst without a doubt.
(Both starting and secondary hero are potential)

1. Necropolis - Necromancy is overpowered

Starting Hero: (Galthran, Isra, Tamika)?
Secondary: Galthran, Isra, Tamika, Sandro

2. Conflux - Unbalanced team, too much growth
Starting Hero: Uhm??

3. Dungeon - Well balanced creatures, good heroes and lvl 5 spells
Starting Hero: Dace, Gunnar
Secondary: Demacon, Malekith

4. Castle - Some of the best creatures
Starting Hero: (Sorsha or Tyris)? Might
Secondary: Lord Haart, Loynis?

5. Tower - Great late game potential, but expensive
Starting Hero: Neela
Secondary: Solmyr

6. Rampart - Pretty balanced, a bit weak lvl 7, also mediocre heroes
Starting Hero: Mephala, Thorgrim
Secondary: Kyrre, (what magic hero is good here?)

7. Stronghold - Best hero (Crag hack), good creatures, but lvl 3 spells
Starting Hero: Grag Hack
Secondary: Terek, Dessa, Gundula

8. Fortress - Lvl 3 spells, a bit weak creatures (hydras 70hp).
Starting Hero:
9. Inferno - Imps (cough, cough)....
Starting Hero:

I'll more on it later...

He he ... XL map meant eXtra-Large or eXtra-Long game ? There be some basic difference there. U can play small maps where u spent months doing nothing but moving around, or large maps where someone can jump di Dimension Door right next to u within the next 2 weeks. What was what ? How many towns, neutral or already controlled u have there ? How many neutral creature u could hope to raise as skeletons ? What was the map's layout ? How many parts were desert ? How many were swamps, rough, etc ? Was the map loaded with freebies resources and artifacts and mines ? Were players only given a pre-set condition ? Was there handicap ? Was there improvisation available/allowed ? Was this about towns only or about players ? What did u wanna know, like who played the best town or who played the best ?

There be too many things to talk about instead of just telling what was best in just about any given condition.

There be another threads here which talked about the basic of towns/factions compared, u can read them for reference.

Without any kind of specifications, u'r list might as well just be an oversight.

My advice ?
1. Let everyone else picked first.
2. U choose what's left.
3. Find u'r own style.
4. Win the game.
5. Let everyone knows they be wrong.
6. Be the best.

Golden bow goes well with the Cloak of the undead king with expert necromacy (power liches) Because it removes long ditance penalty enabling you to deal much more damage
