Computer to computer HOMMIII?

Unread postby dhalgren17 » 01 Aug 2011, 16:47

Hello all:
I have two laptops and a friend is interested in playing HOMMIII with a direct connection between the two. I've been trying to set up multi-player using an ethernet cable between the two, but haven't had any success. Has anyone ever done this? I have Vista on both laptops, incidentally, 32 bit on one and 64 bit on the other. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, of course. First of all, verify that you have a connection to begin with. That means send a file from one PC to the other. Then if you're using a router, forward the ports that are needed for the game. Then note the LAN IPs of both computers and enter them in the TCP/IP connection dialog. This should allow you to connect.
