H3: Favourite 6th level troops

Unread postby Metathron » 26 Mar 2006, 12:31

Well, this is the only H3 creature poll lacking, so I decided to put it up.

I've had a tough time deciding between the Naga Queens, because of their amazing damage coupled with no retaliation, and the Dread Knights because of their deadly Death Blow ability. Finally, I've settled with Nagas, they're superb troops!

EDIT: Would a moderator please add the Psychic/Magic Elementals?

The Naga is my 2nd favorite creature from HoMM. Also the Cyclops and Dread Knights are great.

Voted Dread Knight

They're just the essence of Death. Frightful, powerful, good-looking :)
2nd is Naga Queen. If only she were in H4... :hoo:
3rd mabye Unicorn. You know I like Rampart...

Btw. the poll lacks of Mind/Magic Elementals :P

Voted Death Knight because of their special. Actually, I always look forward to getting champions as well.

Efreet Sultan. Clear choice, for me.

Psychic/Magic Elementals...Nice speed, no retaliation, and the area attack is pretty useful...

I consired as a best Dread Knights, a little weaker are Naga Queens and strongest flyer is, with no doubt, Efreet Sultan. War Unicorns are the best bargain.

But if you going to ask my favourite it would be Wyverns. Fast mudlander's monster capable of poisoning any living unit (with excp. of Dragons). Unfortunately it's not happen often. The second close would be Scorpicores, as theirs ability could be crucial in any combat.

Cyclopes are great but boring and Magic Elementals aren't my sort of taste.

Why is scorpicores ability better than unicorns for example? Blind or paralyze - no difference :) - EDIT - that was to Pol

I went with dread knights. Prefer their speed and death blow over nagas no retal and fixed damage. Both are amazing units of course.

I voted for Dread Knights. Naga Queens are probably a bit better, but I don't like the nagas' look in HoMM3 - the "Egyptian" type in HoMM4 looks better. And Dread Knights look really terryfying - my second most favourite necro creature after Power Liches. ;)
Cheers,
Boromir

The difference is exactly called Dragons, Elementals and Undeads, hi, hi ;) - Paralyze is best

Venom has advantages against Firebirds, Phoenixes, Titans, Giants whose cannot be Blinded in any way.

So Unicorn's blind is weakest from all them. :hoo:

Actually I wasnt exactly sure how much paralyze does. Made some tests. It appears to be like 4th level spell, so it didnt affect blackies and goldies, also magic elementals. But otherwise you are right. But anyway I prefer war unicorns to both of them in most occasions. 30 and 40 hitpoint difference respectively is quite significant, especially as stacks grow. I usually dont rely much on creatures' special abilities since they are too random. Exept mighty gorgons (which is predictable) and those abilities that kick in every time.

It did affect Goldies, Azures, Golems (tested & verified) ... I never tried it on Blackies though. :yummy:

And it doing nothing against Blackies and Magic Elementals, so we may freely assume that is 5th lvl spell ;)

And did you know that rooting can be dispelled but not cured?

(tested in WoG3.58t)

And can unit with Magic Mirror reflect such spell???

Yeah. And the most fun part is that you can dispel it on black dragons. (rooting)
