Heroes 2 & 3: Favorite Level 5 Spell

Unread postby UndeadHalfOrc » 02 Jan 2010, 21:31

Only 9 spells in total compared to 15 for every previous level so no spells are omitted this time.

H2 also had "Set Guardian" spells that you could cast on your mines but it was pretty much worthless but I threw it in anyway.

BTW in H2, Armageddon, Town Portal and Hypnotize were level 5 spells.

Implosion. Dimension door is a close second, but everything else is pretty bad for level 5.

Dimension Door. Although it is far too easy to abuse this spell in H2.

I vote for Heroes 2's Armageddon. I love its animation.

I voted Dimension Door, but my favorite from this set is H2's Town Portal. Who needs Caravans when you can visit every town you own in a single turn?

Voted Dimension Door for multiple reasons. It's simply the best. Need I say more?
Don't worry if things are going badly today. They will be much worse tomorrow.

Dim Door, even though it's overpowered. Other than it and Fly, only Implosion is worthwhile.

No love for the summoning spells?

I find them to be extremely useful in long, decisive battles, since they can be cast over and over. The Earth/Fire/Water versions at the very least.

Sacrifice is situational, but it has been play-tested that for the same spell power, it's incredibly more powerful than Resurrect.

Magic Mirror is a joke for a level 5 spell. Anti-Magic, a level 3 spell, is much better.

No, no big love for Elemental summoning. Basic elementals have too bad stats. They are not useless like Magic Mirror, but they are certainly not worth the price of a fifth level in your Mage guild.

With WoG magic mirror became a goodly spell because we can now apply it to the creature. Fighting azures/rust dragons or anything else with high damage/speed and magic mirror applied is now a pain.

Sacrifice is very good to give to the computer, he makes very good use of it. It rates it the highest.
