Fool/error/issue/fire-proof way to play HOMM3 online?

I have a couple of friends that are , lets say NO GENIUSES with the use of theyre computers, and of course explaining them to open ports or things with the firewall its like have a gremlin hit a Behemot, you hit and hit and hit, but THE DAMM CREATURE DOESNT EVEN FEEL IT!

We tryied hamachi and cant connect, (gives me the error "Unable to connect, try again later"), we tryied by entering IP unsuccesfully.
Isnt there a MSN you can include HOMM3? I did it once, but dont remember wich it was and how its done!
Any other way you may suggest?
