Awful, pathetic weather here in crappy old England. Could hardly have a smoke outside without it getting wet from rain.

After a week of rain so bad that it caused flooding and destroyed roads and railways in the east of the country, we have another heat wave ...

It's hot again, with occasional short, but strong rain. It's that time of the season again, when you may need sunglasses at the beginning of the street, an umbrella at the end, and sunglasses again when you turn to another street...

Sympathies to Europe - we've just had flooding here in the country too so we know what it's like.

As a consequence, though, the political debate is currently whether to allow settling in exposed areas..

30 °C outside. In other words, a frying pan. Our local meteorology service even put up a big red warning about that on their website. And tomorrow it will rise up to 34 °C. The digital forecast has the colour scale for temperature going only up to 35 °C, so if it rises 2 more degrees, the heat will be literally off the charts!

Got to love global warming ;|

There was 36,5°C in Prague, Karlov. So subjectively 38-40°C if you stayed at the wrong place.

Even now it's damn hot night. B-)

There as a period of short, violent rains, and now it's back to being hot again.

We've had a great summer, weather-wise. It's been hot and sunny for weeks on end and I can remember those summers from when I was a kid in the 90s. The last ten years or so, every summer has been interrupted by either rain or cold; you'd get a few days of sun, but then the rain would come for a few days again and interrupt until you could get another few days of sun. This year, we've had weeks of uninterrupted sunny skies. :)

That was just confirmed by the meterologists, who say that we have not had such a dry summer since 1904, 109 years ago.

Sun is shining here. No snow, no wind, no rain. Temperature around 5°C

Albeit it's a little strange in this period of year in the middle of Europe - it's a nice weather.

And it will likely result in the crop failure later. But as long as here are not white mushrooms, everything is gonna be ok. :)

We have snow aplenty and a temperature level of -10°C. :)

I bought a top hat for the car and I'm using the solution I developed in Tromsø 10 years ago, with a heater set on a timer to warm up the car an hour or so before I even get out of bed. :)

I just pulled a cover like these over the car, pulled an extension cord through the back door (it still closes) to power an interior heater. This heater is left with the "on" switch on, and the power outlet timer gives it power at a certain time. That means the heater will start up when I want, which is at 6 a.m. when I'm still in bed. Result. :)

+3 hours of shoveling yesterday ... omg that was exhausting. It started out well, I was full of energy, but at the end I just wanted to stretch out on the couch and fall asleep! :tired:
