Haven't you heard? Global warming is responsible for it being too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, hurricanes, tornadoes, monsoons, blizzards, and pretty much every other weather system you can think of. So everyone better shape up and start driving little plastic electric cars that'll get us killed by all the weather we've caused.

It's almost as if heat is energy and somehow fuels more energetic reactions in the weather...

But seriously, when i was a kid the winter alternating between very cold and spring like hot was abnormal, now it's every winter...

The childhood winters I recall were far more shifty than the ones we have now. And we don't get storms like the ones we used to get either.

It's all random, or at least based on too many variables for us to calculate it properly.

Agree with the shifty thing; I grew up on the south coast, and there was no correlation between snow amounts from one year to the next. One year it could be wet all through winter, the year after there could be so much snow that we could hardly travel. When I went to university up north, it was snow every year. :)

We've probably averaged high temperatures of 60°F this past week, and yet I saw a snow drift yesterday that still hasn't completely melted.

Yeah, looks like winter is compensating for those weeks of rain and will be with us for a while in march...

Of course, after a week of sunny skies, it did have to start raining on the very day I had to take the bicycle to work.
