Well, around 9ºC, sometimes less. That's cold for us.

Lightning storm in the south of Norway last night - this video was actually taken by a girl when it struck 30 feet away ...

During the world cup, a lot of coastal pengiun hatchlings in South Africa froze to death.

Ahhhh.... Penguins are so CUTE! What a pity to lose some.

Just to make you happier... our local aquarium is having a penguin Baby Boom!

http://www.tnaqua.org/animals/penguins.asp

You can even see the "Live At Penquin Rock" video. (Like most live videos of one spot in an animal's enclosure - its frequently boring as there are no animals there, or they are sleeping.) The Baby penguin piece is cute.

For some reason, the weather surprised us this year and brought us a heck of a lot of snow during the night!
These two were taking from my livingroom window. This is my street...or used to be :P

Nice! :)

That's pretty much how it looks over here as well. Temperature is 5-10 below freezing depending on the distance from the sea. Feels even colder when it's windy.

I've been out driving all day, first to the teaching school, then down south to Risør, to paint some walls in our old house over the weekend. Cold here as well, no doubt that it's winter. :)

On the other hand, sunny here, awesome weather for going to the beaches and get that tan - although I daresay that my fur goes a bit funny.

I could see that being very true! :P

The weather here has gone superfreezing and the roads that haven't been cleared of snow are now suited for figure skating. Also, huge icicles keep falling on people and the trains stopped moving. I wonder how it is so that the winter ALWAYS comes as a surprise to our national train company?! It's like they don't ever anticipate snow and thus all their trains come to a hault and are delayed...I just...I don't get it.

I agree - it's like they think (every fall) that "weeell, there probably won't even be a winter this year; the seasons will probably skip and go straight to spring."

Coldest November for decades here. The news guys are already reporting that some suppliers are running out of wood. My dad and I stocked the family house completely a couple of months ago, so no heating problems for Christmas there. :-D

I hope this year we actually get a normal winter instead of snow which melts after a few days over and over.
