We had planned a day out today, at a co-workers cabin for some skiing and barbeqeuing. Weather forecasts this week has been shifting from placid to storm, so we thought, what the hey, let's just go. Guess what weather we got...

Storm, of course. And it's still full winter up here, so you couldn't see anything. But we still managed to fire up the grill, despite the coals getting covered in snow before they could be lighted up. We ate inside though.

Then time to go home: still storm, still can't see more than a couple meters. Keeping in touch with people on the phone, we first hear that a bus is stuck across the road. Then that more cars are stuck. Then the snow-plough is stuck... we had to wait a few hours for the mess to clear up, but got home driving very very slowly.

I had a pretty good day, despite my back pain. Brought the wood I carried yesterday (that's how I put out my back) into the storage room. What made it nice was the sun and the warmth. Spring is finally here. :)

Past week has been pretty good. Yesterday wasn't that warm, and cloudy, but right now, the sun is shiny again :)!

Sun here too. Bit of a breeze, and not summer-warm yet.

Summer is here. :oex:

20°C, sun and not a cloud in sight. Spent a couple of hours out on the deck, working on my tan doing some hard labour, and the weather is just so gorgeous that I have to go back out there. You won't see me back here until it clouds over, I fear. :D

We had the opposite. Torrential rains with 50+ mph wind gusts. National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm warning and a Tornado watch for our area. And I...slept like a baby. :D Wake me up if the siren goes off.

The presence of a big city and confluence of two major rivers seems to mess with the strength of storm systems around here. I've heard the tornado sirens only four times in the five years I've lived here, and all of them were because a neighboring county turned theirs on. Just east of here into Illinois, however, gets pounded relentlessly for some reason (note the dark red spot east of St. Louis).

We've been having pretty boring weather lately. Sunny but chilly mornings, sunny and warm afternoons, the usual.

Raining today. Bucketing down. Cats and dogs. And I think they invited the hippos as well. It's that kind of rain when the droplets actually bounce back up from the pavement... Good thing to have a car.
