How long does it take you to go to work or school?
How long does it take you to go to work or school?
I live in a suburb and spend a little more than one hour in the bus in the morning (and the same amount of time on my way back obviously). I've heard horror stories of 2.5+ hour commute times, but I hope it's not your case.
(just to avoid mixups, the figures in the poll are for a one-way trip)
And while you're there, what do you do while you're in the bus/train/car?

Still more than half of hour. And still working on that...

I drive 25-45 minutes (depending on traffic), then walk another 20-25... which really sucks when it's 97 and humid out like today.
I get to repeat it going home, also.

I'm self-employed; my home is my office.
My wife is self-employed as well. However, she's currently been hired by a company that is a bit away. If traffic is low she needs 45 minutes. If not - and mostly it's not because roads are under heavy construction, so there are many jams on the highway, the'll need 75-90 minutes.
I'm not going to vote here, but you can add 1 in the up to 10 minutes column and one in the up to 90 minutes column.

No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.

I read that and pictured Pol driving every day more and more dangerous, trying to break his own record of getting to work in the shortest way possible...Pol wrote:Still more than half of hour. And still working on that...
LOL. Yeah, what else can you do in a crowdy Romanian bus? It's deffinetly not the place to read a book or sth. But IIRC you live in Cluj, and I can imagine you have at least sth to look at. I cross half of Brussels on my way to work, but the views are so boring (not to mention that half of the trip is underground).theLuckyDragon wrote:20 minutes by bus, 30 if there's traffic in town. Lucky b******! :pEthric wrote:2-3 minute walk
Since I went to highschool at 15, I never had a school or job which was closer than 30-40 mins from my place. The traffic in Brussels is pretty busy in rush hours (when I go to/return from work), so it takes at least 30 minutes to get to work by either car or public transport (and it's not like I live in the suburbs or sth). So I usually pick the public transport, in order to save gas/parking money, and trying to be ecological.
What do I do in the tram? If I'm lucky to get a seat, I sometimes read (usually newspaper, rarely a book). Otherwise... I more kinda gaze outside, rather than really "look", because there's not much to see as mentioned above. So if I'm not reading, I guess I fill most of the time with "thinking" (about job, family, week-end plans, games, politics... whatever )
