Superbowl Commercials

Unread postby ScarlettP » 06 Feb 2006, 12:40

I don't know if those of you from outside the USA get this or not, but the SuperBowl is the A#1 most watched TV broadcast in the world. (Or at least that's what they claim.) Advertisers spend MILLIONS to get 30 seconds on the game, so they normally come up with some pretty good commercials. Many people who don't even LIKE football will watch just for the ads. Me? I can't stand Football, so I watch all the good commercials here:

Have fun! Don't forget, there's a "NEXT" button at the bottom of the page.

Because "Football" was already taken by the time "Soccer" came into popularity in the States. We had to call it something.

I was a little disappointed with the commercials. I think my favorite was the FedEx dinosaur commercial, or the one with the doctors and the fly. But overall I thought they were weak, especially the Budweiser ones, which are usually a lock for entertainment.

Why? I ask of you why would anyone just watch commercials...

This may seem very communistic, but has the world been driven in consumism so much that we watch TV and internet for commercials?

Looking in Rich Eisen's archives, there are NFL viewers in places like Israel, Iceland, and Poland to name a few...

Ah, but if you dig deeper you'll find that all reported viewers outside the US are, in fact, testsubjects in psychological experiments to test the effects on the human brain of watching men in bodyarmour stomp around a field back and forth in a random way for hours on end. And as for the japanese... well, they'll watch anything that is weird.

Yeah. Look at the brits. At least they have the courage not to wear full plate armor and doesn't have to take a rest every 20 seconds...

Yup. Dumb American here. Favorite two sports? Baseball and Football. What can I say? I love them. :hoo:

You can see all the adds (and rate them here)

Also...

For Go Daddy...

They have a spot on their website where you can see the process they had to go through to get their ad approved (not to mention all the ones that got denied).
