You still haven't bought a new computer? 8|

Why don't you pick the one I picked? It's been approved by the right people. :D

Also, if you can, lemme know the price on that one in one of your stores, just for the sake of comparison.

sure... that's what your parents tell you when you're old enough to buy it... so they don't have to face up to the fact that you're just not among the few dozen names on the nice list... but they're not fooling me, i know where all that coal they used in winter came from...

If you go Q6600 for the cpu and you aren't planning on setting up SLI then the intel mobo's pretty good.

Intel BLKD975XBX2KR LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard - OEM

I've also been very happy with my Thermaltake Toughpower W0172RU ATX12V / EPS12V 850W Power Supply.

I like my EVGA GeForce 8800GT 512MB I'm using now. It's coming down in price too.

Finally checking in from my new computer. I went through hell trying to set it up, was bombarded by spyware, malware and their ilk, obviously in the few minutes I went online to get antivirus/antispyware programs. It brought my computer to its knees and I had to format it all over again, only this time I set everything (important) up before sticking the internet cable into the computer.

Good god. :tired:

I'm using Sygate Personal Firewall. Another good was free Agnitum Outpoost - which is older and it's having huge memory footprint. But it can block Add-Ons.

Sygate is also discontinued but it's working fast and good. Yes, here are others too (Comodo)... but they aren't so fast end efficient, although they are free and alive. You aren't using any hw firewall? Usually part of router/modem... (set it here, make yourself silent)

Hell yes, firewall is first thing which you should install after (or in the same step) like OS.

Well, there was a firewall that comes with SP2 but I installed ZoneAlarm nonetheless.
