Can't believe I'm doing this, but here: Dragon Scale Shield 6000!

6000 is still not a bad bid... I'd easily pay that in game since it gives you +6 in Primary Skills (+3 Attack & Defense)... Although with a current salary cap of 35K, it's above my valuation... until SU makes it rain.

That's also my problem. In game I'd pay 6000 any day, 'cause there the money keep coming. But considering how limited we are here, 6000 equivalates with like 60K in the game.

This might make things a bit more complicated to asandir, but what about giving a small bonus to the participants every round? At least after a while, if we see there aren't many interested in joining.

Prorate the Alloted Gold for Newcomers to the Auction!

 Personally, I don't think it's quite fair to give newcomers to the Auction the same 35,000 to spend as those who signed up originally. When someone joins later and gets 35,000, it gives them a huge advantage in bidding on remaining Lots.

I think it would be more
fair if the amount of gold
alloted to newcomers is
pro-rated in proportion
to how many Lots have
already been sold and
how many are left.

Bonuses are good! :-D Depending on what the definition of 'participated' is. If 'participated' means anyone who made bids but didn't win the artifact, that would be acceptable. If 'participated' means only those who have won an artifact, that isn't. ;|

This is a long auction... New people with lots of cash is not a bad thing. I capped the original cashflow so that no one would go overboard and spend all their cash. Also, I was going for 1 million gold pieces for the total.

Some people a free spenders. Some horde their money. It's the nature of the game.

I'm currently wearing my cool dolphin necklace!

That would be me. ;)

@stefan: So...when's the next auction? I'm holding out for 2 specific arties...even though there are some other ones I wouldn't mind stabbing at. :)

Well, I don't hoard my gold but I'm not a free spender either. I like to think I'm a 'sensible' bidder. :proud: But okay, this lot wasn't too exciting (at least for me) … when will we see some new ACTION??

later today, I will update soon, and since most things are gonna sell when I do, I may get a new lot started today as well, depends on what else is happening, and whether I get too stuck into wesnoth ....

as for new bidders getting the big cash, well thats a risk that is taken, they also miss the chance to bid on a lot of items, plus, since we've only had one person join at this stage, I don't doubt there will be some form of cash divvy out at some stage to get a little closer to the million mark (I may skew this in any way I see fit, and perhaps one way is to grant to skew towards the people participating since the beginning - just not sure yet), but I don't wanna go silly yet, cause there's a long way to go

I'm doing some prep work for the next lot, so I will grant another day to the 5 items still on sale, beware that any item without a bid from now to when I update tomorrow (maybe 18 hours or so) will be sold
