In Virginia you can pick up a six-pack at any 7-11. That's why you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting one here. We give directions like, go past a 7-11 on the right, make a left at the the next 7-11 - you're gonna pass three 7-11s and then make a right at the fourth, mine is the fourth house on the right.
But we have ABC (Alcohol and Beverage Control) stores here for anything over 14% ABV.
In Maryland - very weird law but the same store can only have ONE location that sells alcohol (any ABV) so there's only one 7-11 that sells beer, wine and liquor in the whole state (located in College Park for all the University of Maryland Students). Walmart has one store. Giant, Safeway, CVS, Walgreen's, etc.
DC is similar to VA except liquor stores are privately owned.
In West Virginia, you can buy Jack Daniel's at 7-11.
There are 12 in Fairfax, VA alone.
We used to have High's Dairy Stores but 7-11 ate them in the 80s.

Not too many 7-11's here in PA. But we have a WaWaon every corner. No booze though.

Probably not... but I know a place that carries some pretty obscure brews. I'll check it out tonight, as I will probably pick up a select-a-six-pack there on the way to Chinatown for dinner. Sweet and sour sea bass, here I come!gravyluvr wrote:Yup! Forgot to add that one to my list. Very good beer but you probably won't easily find it East of the Mississippi. Had it in Colorado and St.Louis most recently.

This is what I'm currently drinking (er...not as we speak, because it's still before noon.) Fuller's ESB.
Here's another of my favorites: Bell's Best Brown.

And the chickens. Those damn chickens.
Just remember, no matter what time it is where you live, it's 6 PM somewhere.Omega_Destroyer wrote:(er...not as we speak, because it's still before noon.)

Indeed. All this talk of beer is giving me the urge to go buy some more. My fridge still has some space. It's only about 70% beer.
If you can find it, I highly recommend Bell's Hopslam. It's a bit more expensive than your typical IPA but it has an excellant taste.

that's weird, cause the tastes range to just about everything! even beers range in taste a lot, but then you add spirits and wine and cocktails into the mix it can basically be any taste you wantPanda tar wrote:but because I really dislike the taste of alcoholic drinks.
