That's a bit underestimated. Maybe there are 100 "permanently active", not counting for example people like me who, at some point left the forum (for reason having nothing to do with the forum itself) but came back. I am a regular or guest on over 20 similar forums, and now that I think of it, none seems to be as active as this one (threads sometimes disappearing in 24-48 hours from the first page of a forum section, because of all the updates - from different users - in all the other topics during one single day). Look at the Ubi Tavern for example: except for the chat thread, sometimes it takes days till sb posts sth.

Which is a nasty contrast to how it started out; remember before HV was released? You couldn’t even refresh the page without three new threads and a half-dozen replies appearing. Even after HoF came out there was hardly much of a usage increase, at least so far as I could tell, not visiting it more than casually myself. I’d be sad if it weren’t so user-unfriendly over there...

Indeed. I think you rarely see a forum less active after the game is out then before the release. And such a contrast...

It is a clear indicator of how much the developer managed to:
a) Satisfy the old fans (by keeping them on the boards) and
b) Bring new gamers into the universe (by increasing the number of the above on their board after game release)

To come back to this board, I think we should be more optimistic about the number of active users. When I opened the CH page just before, it said: "3962 unique visits in the last 24 hours". And that's just during weektime, with no game release nearby or school vacation.

...Never underestimate the lurkers. :p

indeed, although there are always a small proportion who tend to post a lot (which is a phenomenon to all forums I go to) most are occasional posters

I doubt it, I would think we'd need about 30000 users to hit 10000 active users!

We past 9500 active users on the memberlist on April 9th.

That means we should hit 10000 in the summer (June or July).

Note: There are 2645 members with at least one post.

10K? Does this mean all the computers are going to break?

It is also an interresting fact that the top 10 posters have 38.85% of all the posts, while the two top spammers have 16.9%.

Right, per each active user, two users are needed so that the third one can hit the active user with 100% probability. In one to one fights some active users would certainly manage to dodge the incoming hit.

I don't think that's the type of hitting stefan meant, Silence. ;)

To be honest, I don't see more then a handful of active users. If there were more then 100 I would be really suprised. By active I mean at least 1 post a day average. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough.

how do you figure? TT is about 11500 and I'm sitting at 5850 or so and out of 135950 posts in total, that's just under 13% .... are you including DL as the other uber-poster? Just did the sums and you must have done ....

I'd say at most, there are probably 30 of us who are regulars.
