Different roads, different milage. Maybe it's a guy/girl thing...
Pls, they've been doing the sympathetic villain thing for too long. And Spidey has plenty of other villains that are that way. Why can't someone just not care? And that whole "nanites drove me crazy" thing sucked.
Because then you have the Joker, and a good portion of Batman's gallery of villains.

As I said - different roads, different milage.

That's actually true. Every villain these days has a secret heart of gold. What ever happened to the guys that ran over little bunny rabbits just to hear them go *SQUISH*?
I'm with ya there, I don't mind a tortured soul in a drama, or some such, but in my superhero movies, I like 'em mean .... I don't mind the occasional misplaced loyalty, or the like, but meanness is good!

I have to agree here. In superhero comics, who really cares if the villian had his pet puppy kicked when he was 5? A supervillian is trying to a) rule the world, b) kill everybody, c) raise money to do a or b, c) just crazy and doesn't care and does a,b, and c!

Enough psychology in our supervillians. Concentrate on the angst or problems the superhero faces. Make them more human in how they feel and what they do.
Warning, may cause confusion, blindness, raising of eybrows, and insanity. Image

I agree with Mytical. Any supervillain's have I have seen do just that, or atleast attempt anyways.

I want one comic where the situation is reversed and the Supervillain achieves his goal and the hero constantly fails.

Manga has a lot where things never goes the heroes way and the bad guys get to do about whatever they want :). Until the very end, which maybe years away. Of course, there is a lot of nudity (not all but most) and some gratuitous sex scenes, but there is a lot of manga out there that do fit your description.

Please, i've seen enough of both types of villains. My beaf was with the damn movies. Spidey already did the "gone criminaly insane" thing. I just don't think that really worked with Doc Ock. And i always hate it when they just change stuff like that about a character when it worked better as it was. And now everyone seems to be doing it.
Enough psychology in our supervillians.
I don't really have anything against it, it's just that why they're crazy/evil doesn't always have to be something that makes them sympathetic.

Maybe. It seems as if he was just on the receiving end with little choice in the matter and a mostly linear way ahead.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Meh, Harry was never a good villain. And without the crazy hair he's just an annoying rich kid.

I think he was referring to the comic.
We'll have to make do with the 'maddened with grief/burning for vengeance' type of villain-nah sounds more like an antihero. The only thing of interest is his relation to spiderman and how it will affect him not the character itself.I'm just glad venom will be there as a baddie, the others are just a bonus :D
