methinks the drop bears more likely :D

and you get those signs wherever there are koalas in captivity and you can walk under them .... maybe that's where the rumour started?? 8| Can you imagine a 12 kg koala bear falling on your head .... give you quite the fright, even if there is only a small chance that the koala will be awake! since they rest motionless (asleep) for about 19 hours a day and eat for the other 5!!!

That picture makes the drop bears look like Stitch (as in Lilo &...)

The original description makes them sound like Jagulars (from Winnie the Pooh):
Jagulars stay up in trees and call "hallooo" at passers by. And when you look up - they drop on you.

(not an exact quote from the record "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Too"

Anyway, here it is easier to talk about stuff :D

Anyone heard of Fenrir from Norse?
Image

In Norse mythology, Fenrir or Fenrisulfr is a monstrous wolf, the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Fenrir is bound by the gods, but is ultimately destined to grow too large for his bonds and devours Odin during the course of Ragnarök. At that time he will have grown so large that his upper jaw touches the sky while his lower touches the earth when he gapes. After killing Odin he will be slain by Odin's son, Viðarr, who will either stab him in the heart or rip his jaws asunder according to different accounts.

Heard about him a long time ago. Just read about him an hour ago. :D

That's Tyr holding his hand in Fenrir's mouth while the beast is bound with a very strong wire made by a dwarf, right? It's the third time the gods try to bind him. The dwarf took a month to make that wire out of roots of mountains, thunder of cat and other ingredients I can't recall right now.

Looks like the designers of FF have read some Norse mythology, there was a Fenrir in the game and Ragnarok was one of the swords .... these have been recycled thru a couple of iterations of FF that I know of

mean looking wolf, but i reckon a tribe of Drop Bears could take him out :D

If they were perched to high :D Yep these names are familiar enough from many games. An H4 cheat for extra wolves was nwcfenrir if I am not mistaken.

I believe you are correct sir! Interesting to see such mythology in use in current times, mayhap we will see Drop Bears as a new neutral unit in FoH?

We also have Jumătate-de-om-călare-pe-jumătate-de-iepure-şchiop, a negative character whose name could be translated as "Half-a-man-riding-half-a-limp-rabbit".

Drop Bears would make a perfectly good Heroes creature. On the first round they would climb up, like the Imperial Griffin. They would stay up there until an enemy came into a 3x3 range and then drop down and bonk them.
Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you'll be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes.

Activated ability:Climb tree :D
2nd ability:Climb higher(for an extra gravity modifier of course)
When you activate Climb tree you drop on a creature of your preference after one round has passed.Climb higher increases that to 2 rounds and may stun enemy creature(s).
Works only in woodland battlefield.

the fact that it only works in woodlands might be a problem, maybe give 'em some wings, call 'em Drop Bear Dragons or something, Nival'll be sure to go for that!
