Just saw I am Legond and the Golden Compass

I liked both.

Legond is well done as a remake/retelling of the omega man. Smith who was annoying me as of late, did a great job. Very subtle madness I did not pick up on. They did the loneliness shots and setting really well.

The infected types had a look of resident evil to them but were good overall!

I liked Golden Compass even though it is getting knocked. I think if you haven't read the books, you would like it. Unlike Potter, you could follow the story line. Yes I am one of those people that didn't read Potter till the 5th book was out. Some of the knocking I think it's because people think the movie should be all finished in the end. Too much info and details to throw three books into one movie. People bitched about Kidman and Craig being underutilized but I suspect their characters pick up later. I will find out now that I picked up the three books.....

Was about to write few good words for the "Golden Compass", but the last 20minutes killed the last of it (Harry Potter style ;| )

I believe he is referring to a comic strip where the protagonist sobs that song in the shower after being sodomized by Ferdinand the bull. Also I suspect he is confusing that strip with the one where the guy was in the shower trying to remove the taint after having seen Rise of the Silver Surfer.

You are of course free to maintain the preferences of your choice, but it's nothing to do with me. Thankfully

I'm watching breakfast-TV, and there was this choir on a minute ago. Pretty much 100% gay men singing "Christmas is here" while doing some poorly choreographed movements. The singing was all right, the rest was something in between impressive and embarrassing.

"Flaaklypa Grand Prix" is on now; an absolute classic they show every Christmas. One of the very best films ever made.

On Christmas Eve (ie tonight) I have the following choices of what to watch (assuming I make it back from the party we are at in time to watch anything):

Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2007
Hogfather
Carols by Candlelight
Soweto Gospel Choir: Voices From Heaven
South Park
Mandarin News
or
2 Fast 2 Furious

guess which it'll be? :)

South Park.

I'd say 2 Fast 2 Furious...if it was Tokyo Drift.
