Here, the temperature is excruciatingly hot,
hasn't rained for the last 8 months,
sight is severely limited due to smoke from forest infernos,
the air is near toxic level because of the smoke and pollution,
while water is all but gone in certain places and severe drought is imminent if rain won't start coming within 2 months.

I agree that I don't like bad weather, like lots and lots of rain. But wind I like, and snow too. As long as it's not too cold...

Are you sure you want to pick a fight with a mod? I said that's enough, and that's the way it's gonna be.

Ahem, back on topic....

One thing said about the weather in this country, "You can always tell when it is summer, because the rain gets warmer. Or your goose pimples get wet."

Five miles offshore from where I live is an island called the "Isle of Wight". Another saying is, "If you can see the Isle of Wight it is going to rain. If you can't see it, it IS raining."

Personally, I try to be grateful for any weather type. One thing I don't see the point of is complaining about it. The British are known for opening conversations with the weather. Not me. Utterly pointless.

One of MY favourite sayings is, "Curses, look at that rain. I was going to clean the car, cut the grass, weed the borders, and it's raining. Now I'll just have to stay in and play Heroes. Damn!"

For those who are interested, today here was a mild 17C (@65F), light winds, and just enough to get me outside and tidy the garden. If I hadn't I may have been harmfully touched.

Aw, crap - from a slight drizzle to heavy downpour... Oh, well - at least I'm indoors and can listen to it falling on my window. That's actually kinda nice. :)

Ok guys, here's an interesting question.

When I was a boy late (50's early 60's) the seasons were always predictable for timing.
Nov, Dec, Jan, - cold, frosty mornings, sometimes snow, fog.
Feb, Mar, Apr, - showers, damp, cloudy, sometimes windy (Caused by changes in temperature)
May, Jun, Jul, Aug - Getting warmer to hot, occasional rain
Sep, Oct, - Cooler, windy, damp.

It seems that in the last 20 years, the seasons have shifted by 3 months here. e.g. in Feb, Mar, Apr, we get the old weather for Nov, Dec, Jan. Winter here seems to be Feb - Apr.

It may be due to global warming, it may be just my childhood memories, I was wondering if any other senior Europeans had noticed the same, or even if it is the same globally.

Do your seasons seem to start and finish 3 months later than they used to? I know you young 'uns wouldn't remember, but ask around.
