My people's ancestors wept at births and rejoiced at funeral... coz they knew that life sucks more then any fate you might have after death, even oblivion.

Maybe I should pay respect for someone that was important here in Brazil. He was the one who founded the 5th biggest theme park or the world, biggest of the Latin America: Beto Carrero World. He was 70 and was a good example of a person who puts all efforts into making something that was bound to be a disaster to become a very important entertainment center.

He died days ago.

I've never gone there. I think I'll go there in May, perhaps. It's just 180 km from here anyway. :D But it's rather expensive.

Heard that Patrick Swayze has gotten pancreatic cancer. That's gotta suck. Guess he's got a couple of months left, and then that's it for the guy who left my sisters in tears when he said "Nobody puts Baby in a corner", and most teenage guys wanting to leave high school and take up full-time surfing after "Point Break".

Yeah, it's not good news. Pancreatic cancer is pretty much a 6 month death sentence.

Well they said the disease was small and responding to treatment, so there is some hope he will be around for awhile longer than that. In any case I wish him well. His role in Ghost was great and to me its as hard to watch that as Old Yeller.

As a note, a friend's mom coworker got diagnosed with lung cancer, they told him he had 6 more months left to live.

He agreed to go through a still-in-the-works-last-ditch-effort method of treatment, and he was treated and still lives today. I'm sure Swayze has enough money to get to any treatment he wishes, but we'll see if he manages to pull it out like this guy, I'm hoping he does.
