Carrots are one of the few boiled vegtables i can stand. I agree about the rest.

Ad why do tomatoes only taste good in their original form? I ove them, but hate tomato juice and ketchup. :ill:

Tomatoes :nervous: :vomit:

I can't stand their taste. Every time I tried to eat them I almost threw up. :ill:

So I could say, that I'm afraid of tomatoes. Something like tomatophobia ;)
What is more interesting, especially during eating, when I tell people that I don't eat tomatoes they look at me as I'm some kind of an alien :cry:

Back to mushroom bashing -

If you're going to be eating mushrooms, you might as well eat this:

Did you even try any of those?

Frogs legs are like chicken,but tastier.Snails are a bit chewy,and they dont taste special,but are eatable.Bugs,I dont know,but I plan to try.

@Corribus

Theres a difference between mold fungus and eatable mushrooms.

@GC

I wouldnt mind eating any of those.I dont know how cats taste though,but who knows.And the only reason we dont eat human flesh,but give it to worms is the diseases and because it doesnt taste that good.

i've tried snails and they're alright, i would try frogs legs as well

i guess it really depends on the individual

i mean if you look at a mussel, it looks about as gross as you can get, but they taste so delicious, especially in a nice garlic chilli sauce!!!

Corribus, you should probably avoid Ray Bradbury's story "Boys, Grow Giant Mushrooms in Your Basement!"

(and just to totally creep you out, the following account is not fiction)

What is probably the largest living organism on earth has been discovered in the Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon. A fungus living three feet underground is estimated to cover 2,200 acres. After testing samples from various locations, scientists say it is all one organism.

One Thousand Football Fields

Officially known as Armillaria ostoyae, or the honey mushroom, the fungus is 3.5 miles across and takes up 1,665 football fields. The small mushrooms visible above ground are only the tip of the iceberg.

Experts estimate that the giant mushroom is at least 2,400 years old, but could be 7,200 years old.

Previously, the world's largest organism was another Armillaria ostoyae, which covers a mere 1,500 acres near Mt. Adams in Washington state.

A Web of Tentacles

Scientists became interested in that section of forest when trees began to die. The honey mushroom uses tentacles, called rhizomorphs, to take water and nutrients from roots, killing trees.

The process benefits the ecosystem by creating clearings where new plants grow. Animals, such as woodpeckers, live in the dead tree trunks. Mushrooms also recycle nutrients

The dry climate of eastern Oregon discourages competition from new growth, leaving space for mushrooms already established.
Genetically Closer to People

In other research, scientists have determined that fungi are more closely related to human beings and animals than to other plants.

Moreover, while humans and most species are divided into only two sexes, mushrooms contain over 36,000 sexes.

36k sexes? Now that's quite an orgy.

As far as foods go, i'll prob try most things once. But i can ususaly tell what i'll like just by look and smell.
