hard rock, hallelujah!

Unread postby Pitsu » 20 May 2006, 22:15

First of all congratulation to all finns out there for finally winning the Eurovision song contest. I didn't imagine that almost all countries gavethat high points (i guess most of those that did not had no public voting). For Nordic and Eastern sure, but i misjudged the rest. ROFL. Good show.

Considering also Lithuanias high place with their "we are the winners", IMO this contest showed nicely how bored people are of all those pop lovestories. Guess how many alternative bands are showing up next year?

THAAAAANKSSS!!! :-D And special thanks for your 12 points aswell! :D For the previous 50 times you (our eastern neighbours) have actually been the only ones giving us any points.. ;) I never believed this day to come, actually we have a saying in Finland that certain place, mentioned in the song also, will freeze before we will win Eurovision song contest. ;) I´m totally shocked! :hail:

Ps. My guess is 24 alternative bands (and it´s about time). ;)

Congratulations to Finland. You really deserved to win, just for being different than all the young chicks with almost no clothes and even less flair for singing.

My guess is, that there will be 5 or 6 hard rock bands next year :)

My wife thinks, that maybe Eurovision will switch to jury voting again after this years contest ;)

 *LOL* Thank you (for the 12 points & congratulations)! :hail: Now time to see dreams about rock´n roll  angels. Everyone here will think in the morning that they saw just a wish-dream about the result (it´s that unbelivible), so there will be plenty of morning coffees spilled over the newspaper (or on lap if you are unlucky) when the cover-headlines are read. ;) Good night. :hoo:

I'm afraid this country will explode once the media gets their hands on this.

Two or three traditional ones would be OK. Occasionally you need time for bringing new beers or empting yourself.

Congrats to the Finns, though I did not watch the show, nor listened to the song yet. :D

And me without my trusty pea-shooter. No pig wings for me today.

So, does anyone have a link or something to check out the winners?

Country after country gave 12 points to Finland. I WAS SHOCKED.

I mean I never expected that people would like to see a band like Lordi to win the Eurovision.

When I saw Lordi competing I thought "These Finns are crazy people!"

Anyway, I'm really glad that Finland won.

CONGRATULATIONS FINLAND. You rock.

Thanks :D & yes, that kind of "wardrobe malfunctions" + singing on underpants or in a skirt that is actually a shirt, has become so OBVIOUS that it´s irritating. :disagree:
Pitsu wrote:I think not only finns had that saying. You "fame" was known internationally ;)
No question about that. :devious: In the previous model of the competition we used to blaim our "different" mother tongue of the "0-point after another" unsuccess, before you guys won the whole thing (that was a nice "stop whining" -factor)! ;)

...besides, if everyone is some sort of alternative, that makes a mainstream right? ;)

As we lithuanians got the sixt(best ever!) place with our "We are The Winners" means that the Eurovision standards should change soon :devious:

Congratulations Finland from Denmark and me :D
I like the Lithuanian song but what was people's problem at that show? All the buhing (damn, don't know how that's spelled :baby: ). That was so respectless and lame...
I just don't know why they hated Lithuania so much?

Perhaps they missed the intended humour in the lyrics.
I found the song boring and repetitive, but liked that it was different.

Eurovision is IMO about standing out from the crowd.
Lithuanian song was different and thus easy to remember.

The danish song was ok, but mostly harmless... thus ending as number 18.
