The simplest solution would be to combine this for CPU (from pre-previous post):

Add some some system coolers (Noctua or Ninja or something really silent) and not using anything for a card itself. As its coolers are pretty good and seemingly getting water cooling here is absurdly pricey. (Also the video above is for 7900 XTX and you have 7900 XT - compatibility would need to be checked first.)

Idea: If you get air flow in the case, the card itself will be cooled sufficiently. It's just important, that case must circulate the air properly, suck in the air, circulate and let it out.

As I don't recommend anyone of these three. I'm using Noctua coolers for years. They have extreme durability and are very silent. Designed in Austria. They are not the only ones but I know them the most.

ROG RYUJIN 240 - In the tech specs they have listed AM5, so it shall be compatible without TR4 mounting bracket. This can be judged when you will have the board.

There should be some thermal paste included (please ask them), if not I recommend this one:

So generally you should be all set up.

As of Windows, I don't recommend to trying re-activating your current OEM Windows on a new PC. Instead there would be better to get full version of Windows 10 (re-used) and upgrade it to Windows 11. Or not depends on your taste.

Why is a hard-drive recommend instead of another SSD? A long time ago I got https://www.microcenter.com/product/485 ... tate-drive SSD for free and never opened it. I know it has weak specs, but wouldn't it be suitable as a backup drive?

HDD is more reliable for data retention than SSD. We are talking in years here. Most SSD will hold on for 2-5yrs but most HDD will hold on for 2-15yrs.
But apart from that, SSDs have tendency to once day show you an overall space of disk like 0kB. Classical HDD never do that in such way, that it couldn't be restored, until it's not physically damaged.

You may also look for external hdd or cloud solutions.

It's unfortunate that Rog Ryujin is sold out at Asus store where it is priced at $90. It is priced at $230 everywhere else.

This video card seems to have slightly better specifications, longer warranty, and non-essential LED lights at same price than the one you chose Pol, although it is also larger. Any reason you went with the PowerColor instead?

The trouble with the kit, is that it's Do It Yourself. So they provide LCD panel and board but as of mounting frame you need to print it and assemble yourself.

The second trouble is, that I don't see it nowhere in the store. But this amazon alternative comes to rescue. (says ppl at reddit, no mounting frames/bracket printing needed)

It's better regarding coolers, warranty is also plus. It especially got me, that the middle fan is rotating in reverse to silent it.

That's all very interesting with the panel, but I have to check if there will be extra cost to build that, because I don't think it is worth the extra money.

The specs on my power supply say that it is 1.4 kg, but I weighed it in the box and it is 3.4 kg. Much heavier.

I learned about a "Distro Plate" from this video for custom cooling. Also wondering if the Y40 would be a better option than the Y60 case.

Seems that Y40 is cooling a tad better. But no lcd display support. If it's also cheaper, it can make a very good choice. But the final choice is always on you.

In any case I wouldn't count on placing coolers on the top, that's less convenient. Everywhere else it's ok.

I already bought everything except for the CPU + Motherboard (out of stock) and the cooling system (waiting to get price quote on custom cooling to compare with ROG Ryujin & Noctua fan). Don't want to jump through hoops of returning items, so will probably keep what I have.

Today I went to the store and showed them the parts we discussed on this forum and they said:

1. Cooler wouldn't fit in my case

2. Power supply was not high quality.

3. Motherboard was not high quality and with different MB, CPU & Ram, build would be a lot cheaper.

4. SSD I think he said would have to have the heat sink removed because it would interfere with MB?

5. He recommended looking into 7900 XTX graphics.

As for cooling, he said the ROG Ryujin is good, but he did not recommend anything in place of the Noctua fan you recommended because he said that fan would not fit in case. The Hyte Y40 would be able to fit the Noctua fan if I were to exchange the Y60. As for liquid cooling, he said that would cost about $1000 and would not be worth the price.

I'm curious what your thoughts are about all this Pol because I trust you more than store worker.

Dunno. They don't have bundles listed from MB view, actually microcenter has one of worst filters, which I ever seen. So hard to compare something, what wasn't offered.

So, any solution with 2x120 will fit and even some solutions with 2x140 will fit at side. (We are talking about water cooling here.)

As of PSU or MB that sounds odd. That Seasonic actually costs more, when recalculated per watt and brings not any serious advantage (so you pay for being it Seasonic). I guess that he thinks that having stronger GPU is better than CPU. This is discutable. As variants with better CPU and modest GPU are usually costing less. Additionally XTX cards will fit but will limit cooling, so I would not recommend them to Y60.

So, to be honest. With my first recommended GPU/MB, M.2 drive could keep its heatsink and cooling would be pretty effective. (M.2 slot was located right down, so not directly under the GPU)

According to what I seen and checked. Haven't any of that in my hands. Reality may differ.

BTW removing heatsink means to unscrew 6 screws. So hardly a topic for serious discussion.
For better air flow Water Cooling is the way to go. As of that tower/sandwich cooler, that wasn't measured, as I warned next to it. We discussed water cooling solution only from that moment.

Of course, that's only one of them. Either you use water cooling or tower cpu. From the point of cooling and longevity water cooling is a significantly better choice. (Albeit from the point of silence it might be not vs some ultra silent setups.)

Apart from fact, that I have no way how to jongle with prices like the shop itself, via various discounts and bundles, which change in time and are not visible, so the price can variate a lot (it seems that +/1$200 is easily possible in next week with different actions), the second choice provide more overall performance. Much better CPU and twice as much memory.

There are some contras as well, Strix board is better not only about wi-fi. And the "AMD Ryzen 9 7900X" is currently having better perf/money ratio because the same is simply awful for "AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D", however there's no chance to drop price sooner than in July/August and that's with serious question mark.

I would say that for 650 the price would be fair for a new processor. As of memory, you can save a bit with choosing some non RGB variant but it was you who proposed it, as they would be looking the best in the glassy casy - and that's true.

The difference between these two CPUs can summed up as 1/3-1/4 more with X3D variant. Take a look here:


Now, let see 7900XT(800) vs 7900XTX (999)


The gain is about 1/5 in favour of XTX. But the cooling will work worse for you.

So, for your case HYTE Y60, XT is the better variant. And you will get more overall performance in most scenarios with 7950X3D+7900XT than otherwise. With better cooling, longevity and silence. The perfomance/price ratio is ofc a bit worse. You also should not forget about two coolers to place at the bottom for best air flow.
