Constant load?

Try this for monitoring:
http://www.ozone3d.net/gpushark/

Fan control is usually divided into 3 zones, just the last one is full load, mostly for 45-50+°C.

Try to look for fan control in AMD Control Panel(driver menu). Do you have latest driver version?

After reading this thread,I think it is just the game client problem.

https://mtgarena.community.gl/forums/th ... 111?page=1

I'm going to stop playing that now because I might damage my brand new PC (in case I haven't already). 8| :(

EDIT: On the other hand, I do hear my PC making a lot more noise just doing simple things like browsing the internet. My old PC was more quiet. :S

Here is what AMD settings showed while playing, but this is not the most extreme it has gotten.

This is a bit more, than one would expect. You should be within 50-70C range, not above, in full load.

Try to optimize your speedfan settings, within Radeon Settings or in the system under Advanced Performance Settings.

As I see that thread, it's just about Arena.

What is doing the most noise?
(Create yourself an improvised stetoschope - roll the newspapapers and do some hearing.)

Coolers can be replaced, the other things should be silent apart from HDD, alt. PSU.

The noise is constant revving similar to pressing gas pedal on car or like a vacuum cleaner. Quick rise and fall sounds. Maybe it is fan speeding up or slowing down, but AMD settings show fan not moving and I'm still hearing the noise. I didn't see any fan settings in AMD System tab.

I'm starting to think there might be problem with the way the worker built it or with one of the components I bought.

What can I do?

If you don't have a seal on your PC and you relly shouldn't, open it up. And try to identify source of the noise. This sound shouldn't be here.

Still it could be a plethora of things, starting from loose cable touching the fan, bad cooling design, to some real hw trouble.

I opened it when powered down and I found one cable that didn't plug into anything. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not. Here is picture.

That seems to be okey, with that cable. From where do you see/hear this strange sound coming?
(If unsure, use that improvised stethoscope.)

I ran my PC with the case off and I don't believe the sound is coming from the case fan, GPU fan, or the CPU fan. I don't believe the sound is coming from the hard drive or the solid state drive.

I can't precisely isolate the source. It might be from the CPU (behind the CPU fan, closer to the motherboard). I can't say for sure and I have no idea what to do. :(

EDIT: I read this review of the CPU and its cooler. Do you think it is the problem?

That could be, but you should hear it. Otherwise you will never know for sure.

If it reacts on small temperature jumps, then it's software error. Also you can got better CPU cooler anytime.

See here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6 ... mp_swings/

It should be resolvable by BIOS update, with what board you ended?

When I first turn on my PC, temperature is around 35-40 Celsius. When I play that game, highest I've seen it go is around 75-80.

Noise is heard at any temperature (more loudly at higher temp). That's why I'm not sure if the problem is even temperature related.

Here is my board:

Please, first try if APP Center + Easy Tune + BIOS Update, it could help. Though BIOS itself has higher chance, I won't believe in Easy Tune.

You really will need to hear to your PC to isolate the source of this sound. That's a key.

I'm just going to take it back to the store tomorrow and have them take a look at it.

Good. If that would be a CPU cooler, you may kill it with a better fan, like these two:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/4775 ... CPU_Cooler
http://www.microcenter.com/product/4791 ... CPU_Cooler

Where Noctua is that one marginally better, however you may be in need to buy additional cooler to create a sandwitch here, which helps quite a lot regarding the noise and performance. The second cooler don't need to be identical as exactly the same type, however their sounds should match. (Same size, similar performance.)

Or, if you have previously a good one too, you may just try getting an AM4 mounting kit, if it exists for that one.

They did some stress tests with a USB and found nothing unusual. To me it seemed quieter at store than in my home. I'm just going to accept this is how it's supposed to sound. :canthear: :libra:

I would suggest to return to the idea of homemade stethoscope and collect more details about that noise.

To narrow it, before thinking about fixing that.

I'm playing a game: Guacamelee 2 with the following listed system requirements:

OS: Windows 10, 8, 7
Processor: 2 Ghz+
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: Shader Model 5.0, 2 GB VRAM + Shared on 64-bit OS, 2 GB VRAM on 32-bit OS
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 2 GB available space

So why in the hell does my PC sound like a jet engine when I play it? I can even smell the PC components which I imagine is from the heat being given off from the system.

Something is just off ever since I built this new PC and I don't know what it is. Could it be related with my monitor? I just don't understand. :(

From which component? PSU, VGA or CPU?

Video card is loudest source of sound when playing the game and after that, probably CPU. PSU makes a humming/buzzing sound that's distinct, but not as loud as the other two.

I can also hear a throttling sound (revs up and down) all the time (even not playing games) but I can't see the source. I can see three fans: Video card fan, CPU fan, and Case fan. The throttling sound sounds like its coming from an area behind the CPU that I can't see. Do I have another fan somewhere that I can't see or could it be a different source altogether?

It could be CPU fan, apart from fans you shouldn't have any other sound sources.

Is there any bios update available for MB and VGA? That may fix that.
