Difference in site text size?

Unread postby Kalah » 22 Mar 2006, 23:27

I was browsing the main site (yes, I do that sometimes), and I realised that the text on the American site differs from all the others... The text is bigger. Can you see it? Here it is compared to the British site:

I conclude that most American fans browsing the web must be having problems reading small text. ;|

Yeah, yeah, I know... gotta get a life... but then again, you're the one reading this thing... ;)

Actually, I don't see any difference in text sizes. I'm using Firefox, maybe it scales the text automatically, don't know...

Strange? Well, I've had one glass of red, but that's beside the point. My behaviour is completely normal - normal, I tell you! :D

Well, I can see the difference in the pictures, but the font sizes in the websites are just the same to me...

Could that be related to the glass of red you had Kalah? :-D

Of course it is ! It is more normal than just simply normal. Much better than the classic normal ! Almost abnormally normal !

Hm, that's interesting. The size thing, I mean. Opera is the browser I use - Vel, which is yours? And do you see any difference? Otherwise it would be interesting to know what is causing my browser to display a difference. The picture is created from direct screenshots, so it's exactly what I saw, without using the fit-to-screen feature I usually emply on the forum.

@Echo: I checked in IE, and saw the same difference...

Strange indeed. I do not have a solution.

I even went to view -> Text Size -> Largest and it didn't even change hte text. Still small old text right there.

Other oddities:
The fr site has the pictures on the left and text on right.
The de site has the pictures on the top and then the text on the bottom liek a caption.
The (i think its china) site barely even gets updates.

Is there a mod around who can close this spamerific thread? :)

Mod edit: Relax, they're back on topic.

Hmm... neither Firefox nor IE showed any difference in text size. Sorry mate.

PS: on the US site Firefox did show the pictures as not being aligned to the right, but on IE they were, as in the UK site for both browsers. So maybe the US site isn't done very well for other browsers.

I'm using Firefox and I do see a difference in text size. And the US text is bigger from what I'm seeing.

Weird. I don't see any difference in Firefox nor in IE. Strangely enough, in Firefox the pictures in the US site are not aligned, but it looks like so with IE 8|

US and UK sites both have the same text for me. Maybe your comp is playing an early April Fool’s Day joke on you? :??
